June and July 2018 R Band Afrho data for comet C/2017 S3 (PANSTARRS) from the Cometas-Obs Yahoo Group when normalized to zero phase show an increasing trend in dust production before and after the July 1, 2018 outburst. Post outburst values are higher than pre outburst values. and infer that dust activity should continue to increase on the approach to its 0.208 AU perihelion on 2018-Aug-15. The phase angle increased from 27 to 48 degrees during this time period. There is a possibility this comet may not survive its close perihelion passage with the sun since it passes inside Mercury's orbit. Seiichi Yoshida estimates comet C/2017 S3 (PANSTARRS) could brighten to 3rd or 4 th magnitude near perihelion. As it passes interior to Earth's orbit, phase brightening from forward scattering is expected. It is expected to pass within the SOHO/LASCO C3 field of view instrument field of view between 2018-Aug-25 and 2018-Sep-13.
