What a goofy week, with the craziness at work, and the day in New York, and the going to Chicago on Saturday morning. So to try to normalize a bit, we had a feeling-sorry-for-ourselves pasta dinner on a Thursday. And this was the only picture we took.
Hundreds rally in Philadelphia under the theme of "Reject normalization, Honor the martyrs, Uplift resistance" on Oct 7, 2025.
Protesters started the march at arms-supplier-to-"Israel" Day & Zimmermann at 15th & Spring Garden. As some activists held up signs in English, Spanish, Arabic and Chinese, they marched through Chinatown chanting in Chinese "Free, Free Palestine". They stopped at the ICE Office on 8th Street for a rally against detaining migrant workers and deportations. The march ended with a final rally at the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History, whose pro-genocide Executive Director Dan Tadmor says: "We are a proudly Jewish and proudly zionist institution."
The term "collective memory" denotes the aggregate of memories and knowledge, that a social group holds, which is intrinsically linked to the group's identity. Maurice Halbwachs, a philosopher and sociologist, developed this concept in his 1925 work, «Les cadres sociaux de la mémoire». Various social collectives can create, disseminate, and inherit collective memory.
Contrary to the term "collective memory, the notion of "collective memories" is inherently problematic. Memories are the results of the individual acts of recollection, making the idea of "collective memories" paradoxical. Diffusion models, utilizing vast amounts of data, including historical and personal old photographs, may be seen as involved in the prompts-driven singular acts of remembrance, producing images that paradoxically represent "collective memories," something otherwise unfeasible and ultimately, non-existent.
Rest in peace, Ruth & Richard. 💕
2 Angel's with a lot in common...
NOBILITY, chutzpah & guts.
They both survived a lot and then made it their life's work to build up people's self-esteem . They both use their life energy to mentor people on a large scale to talk about and mentor people about uncomfortable things in a public forum in order to help make people feel good about themselves.
Always remember them.
Never forget their self-affirming outlook, ideology & messages.
I'm sure they have a lot to chat about on their way up to The Great Beyond.

New Project I'm starting to normalize conversations about homelessness and how each of us can do our part to help.
