Evening crossing of the suspension bridge over Beisfjord towards Narvik. There was this incredible, warm, low sunlight which painted the bridge and everything else yellowish :)

KNM Skjold "somewhere in the North Atlantic", en route back from trials with the US Navy.

After they got around to mount the gun, this is probably the fastest warship in the world. (But did we really want to disturb the huge sun bathing platform with a gun turret?) Rumoured to be clocked at 70 knots on some radar. It is supposed to be stealthy, but I hope they use a reflector in peaceful waters. They remove even the door handles to reduce the radar signature.

I have a problem distinguishing computer generated images of this ship from photographs. It does not even seem real when I touch it - it looks and feels like a fibreglass prop in a cheap sci-fi movie.

Significantly, the Royal Norwegian Navy is redecorating its patrol boats from the Norwegian coastal dark olive camo, to this desert pattern. We know where we'll need them.

The rubber skirt separates this surface effect ship (SES) from ASV - air supported vessels. And its inability to sail on dry land separates it from hovercraft.

Notice the square jack versjon of the Norwegian flag, the gjøs, flying at the bow of naval vessels in port.

Their jamming of my camera was not very successful, but it did leave some vertical striping in the image. I almost got rid of it by applying horizontal blur to the sky.

a simple design I created for threadless and threadies.org contest dni (design not illustration). I first thought I wouldn't take part but I've been wanting to create a black tee for threadless for a long time.

My Norwegian great-grandfather was born on the farm Högbakken in 1852.

My Norwegian cousin Villy Börresen now owns the farm. It is near the town of Skotterud.

The photo was taken during my first visit to Norway in 2000.

Translation by Gloel (modified):

The classic of Arne Jacobsen. The chair of the 7 series was designed in 1955 by Arne Jacobsen and got today a very strong world-wide popularity. The principle of the steam-bent laminated plywood was originally discovered by Charles and Ray Eames especially for furniture design and was adopted by Jacobsen. The stackableness (is mandatory today) was a big advantage of this chair. This picture was years in the mothball box and taken approximately six or seven yearsago in an exhibition in Aachen. There were a copy of the U-House by Toyo Ito and these lovely chair was found there as well.

The photo is not sooo high-quality because it was scanned from the slide which I made back then.

P.S.: those of you who want to have this jewel, can contact the original manufacturer: www.fritzhansen.com (they have also free 3D-dxf objects for download)

okay, so I had this idea of a pickpocket's hand reaching for a wallet and spelling 'thief' at the same time. did that, then started doodling other type of thieves and pretty soon I had a pickpocket, cat burglar, bank robber, shoplifter, mugger and car thief. plus a thieving magpie. will be submitting this to threadless shortly.

Completed in the mid-2010s as part of the Niittykumpu metro station area’s urban renewal, this residential tower is one of the tallest buildings in Espoo, standing at approximately 90 meters with 24 stories. It symbolizes the shift in Espoo’s suburban identity — from low-rise, car-centered neighborhoods to vertical living and public transit integration.

Located just meters from Niittykumpu Metro Station, the building is known not only for its height, but also for its contemporary Nordic design — characterized by clean lines, dark cladding, and large glass balconies. At night, the warm glow from individual apartments creates a grid of lives quietly illuminated in the sky.

This photo, taken with the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II, captures that quiet moment when the city turns blue, and the tower watches over the neighborhood like a glowing monolith of urban life.

I miss our old flat. Even though our new one is fantastic.

Having an inspiring workplace will help you stay focused. Nothing is more distracting than a messy office, so Keep It Neat! It also hurts your productivity, since you waste time digging through stacks of junk to find that contract or magazine you need. Nip it in the bud by doing a quick neatening of your workspace every day before you leave work.

I saw a tweet from someone that said, “By the time you turn 30, you should have at least one piece of original Art in your home.” I don’t know if that’s a hard and fast rule, but at some point, you’ll want to start using Art to enhance your personal (work)space. Over the years I've amassed a small collection of original Art, all made by close friends. Having any unique art in your home office really does add a new aura to it, this is a place where YOU work. My designer friend Huib van Wijk helped me do the initial decorating, we went for a Zen look. I have a relaxing, clean place to work. I think that a room with a view is very important for fostering a calm yet creative atmosphere too. I love to stock my shelves. Music - I prefer classical - set the stage for a productive day. My vintage BeoSound Century is playing all the time.

Meetings are necessary to coordinate individual efforts, collaborate on joint projects, support for ideas, sell ideas, solve problems collectively, and make consensus-based decisions. Essentially, meetings are a gathering of TWO OR MORE persons to collectively accomplish what ONE person cannot.

I love houses, little ones and dolls houses, specially used as kid's decor. Here we have some birds houses that add lots of color to this so nice nordic feel room, and not too girlish.

“Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.

You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

A Showcase of Minimal Workstations to Inspire You

webdesignledger.com/inspiration/a-showcase-of-minimal-wor...

A bright spring morning in Helsinki.

The sun hits the cathedral, and below it — a word that says it all.

Shot near Helsinki Cathedral, Spring 2025.

The iconic Luxo L1 and my 19 inches minifigs on a scandinavian sideboard. Three examples of great design.

L-1 was designed in 1937 by Luxo’s founder, the Norwegian industrialist Jac Jacobsen. It is still in production.

In the Netherlands, we're a grass-is-always-greener type people. When it's hot and sweaty in the summer, people fantasize about cozy, snowy days. Seasonally, we're always looking to what's next, and unfortunately I'm no exception.

The sociable kitchen in BSSR-House is a large (62 mq), inviting communal area for our family, with plenty of room to meet, have fun and eat together. A place for shared experiments in the art of creating wonderful food and great taste experiences. Our kitchen works just as well on weekdays, when everything needs to be done quickly and efficiently, as it does at the weekend when there is more time to enjoy cooking. The long and linear gas hob is seamlessly integrated into the worktop to create a sleek and modern kitchen design.

The focal point in the kitchen set-up is the work island, so that more than one person can work and prepare meals at the same time. Whether you are making sushi or an omelette. Combining the cooking and water points creates a more efficient cooking process while the linear arrangement of the burners is ergonomically designed for incredibly practical usage. The long and linear gas hob is seamlessly integrated into the worktop to create a minimalist kitchen design. The sociable kitchen with the work island in the middle of the room as the beating heart is our oasis in a hectic daily routine, where time can stand still.

Sometimes, someone says something really small and it just fits right into this empty place in your heart.

Is anyone else getting stressed if their house is messy?

It’s sometimes driving me nuts. I am not a clean freak, but when I start tripping on cardboard boxes scattered around the house or there is no space on the kitchen counter not even for a toothpick, then it’s bothering me more and more.

But when it’s clean it’s amazing! I feel more light and more productive!

So here’s a photo of a clean and aired living room <3 You guys are totally not ready to see the ‘before’ version, trust me.
