I have never seen any of the Kestrels I have photographed in the past fan their tail out like this. It was beautiful and amazing to watch. I was thrilled to capture it.

An excellent session with the fellas from the spoken word & Music combo JaZZ RiOT, who are really good at standing still enough to make light painted portraits feasible.

Testing out the fadeable cathode wrangled by Mr J Barkby.
Changed the tube to blue, and annoyingly, the pot that controls the speed of the fade broke off.

On peut y apercevoir les ouvriers des phares et balises, venus inspecter l'édifice et ses fondations.Malgré son triple haubanage par des cables d'acier de 30 m ( à la façon du béton précontraint), mauvaise nouvelle : son socle donnerait des signes de faiblesses...

Straight from the camera, except for a bit of cropping, no other post processing; hand held, Canon Powershot S3 IS, SuperMacro, Manual Focus.
The flower was in a bowl of water, so I think that's what the strange blurry bits are ... water drops on the glass bowl.
The gorgeous bowl was a gift from a friend, who passed away yesterday.
