Early June and a visit to Worcester to photograph a Kingfisher.

This Kingfisher became very Noisy possibly alarmed by a predator or hostile Kingfisher nearby out of my sight.

It quickly quietened down and continued to fish.

Taken in Stockton, Newcastle, NSW, Australia.

The Clark's Nutcracker are a loud noisy bird who if they hung out in your backyard would be very annoying. In a picnic site in Manning Park it was not too upsetting.

A not so frequent visitor to my pace in Sydney

so, it's like this.

i'm leaving NY.

for the next 9 months.

taking a chance on this change and hoping for the best.

when i get back, if all goes well, this will be the view from my apartment window.

went neighborhood hunting today.

i want to get out of the place where i'm living.

too noisy. too busy. too crazed.

so, i found this neighborhood.

believe it or not, this is manhattan.

27 minutes from mid-town madness, you step off the train to... this.

so, here is the goal. a little haven away from the part of NY that gets me down.

the part that depletes me.

this place replenishes what gets spent.

fingers crossed, i'll find something here when i get back.

but in the mean time, i have to start packing.

i leave in three weeks for nine months.

what a life.

Noisy miner.

These little birds punch well above their weight. They take on any birds that might threaten them regardless of size.

Some people say they have been swooped by these birds. It has not been my experience, but one will often sit right in front of me and give me a shrill dressing down.

(Manorina melanocephala) The noisy miner is a bird in the honeyeater family, Meliphagidae, and is endemic to eastern and south-eastern Australia. The noisy miner primarily eats nectar, fruit and insects, and occasionally it feeds on small reptiles or amphibians.

Noisy balls of fluff is more like it, in this case at least.

Here are some more bird photographs. I've been busy trying to tame my "garden" after more than six months of neglect (following on from last year's similar neglect) due to lockdown so I haven't had the chance to be out and about much. These are all taken at home.

Along the creek near where I live they are plentiful and one of the easiest birds to get close to.

I lack confidence in the tent owner's ability to sleep through 40+ trains rattling by at all hours of the day and night, but I'll admit, that's a pretty sweet location.
