It's back to basics for me. I have been cheating on my Nikon camera for sometime now. I need to know the limitations of my camera before I jump to the technical side of editing.

(edited with just a little bit of saturation...SOOTC i'm almost there!)

Do I have what it takes to become a fashion photographer? I keep asking this to myself over and over again...

I love working with one light source. It's not complicated and it's so simple.

A million and one thanks goes to Tracy for the giving me the opportunity to work with her and explore each others artistic side.

I caught this worker walking away from his jobsite. This photo is dedicated to those who physically built this city by their own hands. Mabuhay ang mga expats!

11 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE EATING A KLONDIKE BAR

www.delish.com/food-news/g3530/things-you-should-know-bef...

It Was Designed to Be an "Adult" Snack.

That's why you won't find a stick in Klondike bars—the creator, Henry Isaly, thought frozen treats with a wooden handle = kiddie. He aimed for a more mature audience, so he removed it and packaged the bars in a fancy silver foil wrapper.

HISTORY

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klondike_bar

Klondike is a brand name for a dessert generally consisting of a vanilla ice cream square coated with a thin layer of chocolate, often known as a Klondike bar.

The Klondike bar was created by the Isaly Dairy Company of Mansfield, Ohio in the early 1920s and named after the Klondike River of Yukon, Canada. Rights to the name were eventually sold to Good Humor-Breyers, part of Unilever. It is known for its jingle slogan, "What would you do for a Klondike Bar?".

Picture yourself in a boat on a river,

With tangerine trees and marmalade skies.

Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,

A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,

Towering over your head.

Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes,

And she's gone.

{CHORUS}

Lucy in the sky with diamonds,

Lucy in the sky with diamonds,

Lucy in the sky with diamonds,

Ah... Ah...

This mosque in the heart of Manama might be one of the most beautiful one of its kind...or maybe one of a kind. There are a lot of mosques in every corner but not like this. I tried to capture it using HDR but I couldnt do justice to its beauty. Does it look good to you?

As a water god, Hapi was a deity of fertility - he provided water, food and the yearly inundation of the Nile. He was also known as 'Lord of the Fishes and Birds of the Marshes,' indicating that he provided these creatures to the Egyptians along with the Nile itself.

(I would like to give Raffy "SNIPERAMATZ" Dulay, and the staff of Bahrain Travel Magazine for the gift voucher to enter the LOST PARADISE OF DELMON. We are so happy to have visited the resort before the end of the season. Diego was so happy to play in the water while daddy was looking at the girls in bikini. Superdooperfun!)

PHOTOGRAPHERS NOTES: almost happy with the raw image. i just thought it would be more dramatic ni BW with a little vignetting.

I have seen a lot of good pictures that came from Bahrain Pottery and I have longed to see it for myself. This friday I was graced with the opportunity to shoot side by side with Lucie and the other GPN photographers. I missed a lot of photo-walk's in the past months and I'm glad that I'm catching up in little by little. Now without further ado, let me show you these series of photo's from the pottery. By the way, the Indian guy who molds these pots name is...Harry. Harry Potter? =>

This is not a painting!

This photo was taken at one of the cultural program at the Bahrain Museum. I was lucky enough to have gone there (i felt something in my guts) because most of the photographers I know would go to the bars which just opened on the first day of Eid. This man who jokingly called himself "Saafi Hamoor" (he gave me names of fishes not his real name) is a local fisherman who displayed his skills in basket-weaving in this event. This basket is used as traps to catch fish.

I'm not even sure if its called a terrace. I love those intricate craftmanship of the wooden carvings. This must be one of the most beautiful houses during the old days.

Though I really don't know the meaning of the black flag of the Shiite Muslims, I have an eerie feeling everytime I see it. Because in my culture black is the symbol of death, and is only displayed during funeral wakes.

This particular photo is one of my favorite. It looks very mysterious and dramatic.

People fall out of the world sometimes, but they always leave traces. Little things we can't quite account for. Faces in photographs, luggage, half-eaten meals... rings... Nothing is ever forgotten, not completely. And if something can be remembered, it can come back.

all that talk makes me reach out for some candy

J & I made this last week..came out fantastic!!!

ooey, gooey, and strawberry'y..and organic and no sugar added to boot!!!

These naturally sweet beauties are excellent as a high-antioxident snack or to put in homemade granola, trail mix or to mix with our organic dark chocolate covered almonds for an irresistable treat!

I forgot to post this with the children of the sea. So here it is.

I love those mosaic tiles. Gaudi would have been delighted to see this.

A clothing ad that features a very young child in a compromising position brings together the elements of the photo shown earlier. It was banned from circulation because of the many discomforting fragments. The position, expression, context, and environment of this child are all composed of mature themes which irks the viewer. Although this is not yet socially accepted, it foreshadows the possibilities of child sexuality if not carefully monitored and controlled. It is not a matter of censorship but instead it is a very careful distinction between natural behaviour and marketing technique.

Apparently the Emirates (the people in the UAE) love their ice cream! Guess what we found? No sugar-added ice cream at Baskin Robbins in Abu Dhabi! Awesome!!!

Today is Day #1 of a no-sugar-journey I'll be on for the next 40 days as part of a prayer & fasting challenge at my church. I'm a huge sweets girl, so I'm finding healthier options. Today I'm baking "sugar-free"/maple-sweetened banana muffins, cracking open the bottle of pure maple syrup my parents gave me from their 3-month road trip east earlier this year. #kitchenadventures #nosugaradded #bananamuffins #bake #vermontmaplesyrup #nikiskialaska
