It's been a bit of a struggle over the last few months to find much time for anything outside of work and family so it was nice to get the chance to sit down and process this image of Napoleon's tomb in Paris.
The added bonus of doing this is took me back to a much more relaxed period of my life last year when I was spending some time travelling around Europe. It also reminds me, somewhat irreverently of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and how they refer to Napoleon as a 'short dead dude.'
On the downside it reminds me of my desire to get out there and do more travel. The power of photography and a goal to aim for I guess.

I am leaving tomorrow morning for a business trip and had lots (packing for one!) to do....but it all went on the back burner. I got up and headed to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens for what I told myself, would just be for a little while! lol
It was such a beautiful day out (in the shade!) and I had a wonderful time there. This is the path above the Rose Gardens, and overlooks most of the gardens...
I still need to finish packing and getting ready to go...but NO regrets!

I wanted to show some photos of a guy I saw on the streets of Toronto.
I talked to him and got his story as to why he has 2 prosthetic limbs.
He told me that when he was 16, he was riding on top of a train with his friends. Youth has no fear.
He was jumping off the train when his backpack got caught on the side of the car and dragged him under the train wheels.
It cut off his arm and leg.
Since his rehab, he has gone on to riding a bicycle and skate boarding with hopes of doing much much more.
The tattoo is a reminder that his actions are what put him in this plight and he will rise above it all.
He also has career plans and is continuing his education.
I wished him well and told him I would put his story on flickr and possibly facebook.
Taken on a Contiki last year in Budapest. It was -8 degrees and I was walking around the almost deserted place at midnight with my big boofy jacket with a tripod and camera. Character building and good decision making woohoo! #noregrets
Anyway yeah, took this. Though it's your typical Budapest-Parliament shot, I thought it was pretty rad.
This is what I loved about Budapest. It was still tourist friendly without being overly touristy. It was fantastic!
I'll try to upload more stuff, but no promises; it's been a very, very hectic year and this is more procrastination from doing nothing during hols.

When biking across the Golden Gate Bridge, I stopped by this place and decided to spend some time here, thinking that the sky would blow up. In doing so, I missed the opportunity to shoot the GG Bridge and tour downtown Sausalito, but #noregret because it's a city worth visiting several times in life.
On a related note, this is one of the last landscape photos I took with my now-retired 5D classic. Guess what? I've never had to clean this many dusts & dead pixels in post processing...

When I went to my favorite Thrift Store yesterday, this was the 1st thing I picked up, it was a green tag and only 59cents. I put it back down and then roamed through the store and picked up a few more things and went back to this little picture, it's ALWAYS been one of my all time favorite sayings. Interesting that it was there and was the 1st thing I picked up and that I secured a 2nd antique spot at 5pm last night. You never know until you take that chance........

Vintage Vibe: 'No Regrets' by X◇Quisite
Lb has owned a 1993 Ford Ranger for about 10 years now. In the winter of 2011 he took the truck apart to redo it, meanwhile owning multiple Volkswagens that he has daily driven.
The truck should be completed this summer with a fully custom 2x3 chassis. Some details on the build include Sadistic Iron Works custom upper control arms and modified Toyota lowers in the front while the rear is a 3 link. A fully hand built frame, custom made aluminum fuel tank, Little Larry’s manual valve set up, VIAIR 480 compressors with a 9 gallon tank.
It is stock floor body dropped with a raised stock bed floor and modified stock rear tubs, custom front metal bumper, shaved gas door, stake pockets and third brake light.
The engine is a Ford 2.3L SVO turbo motor including an EIP front mount intercooler, stainless header, and a full 2.5 in exhaust with Magnaflow muffler. The other details include the new paint which will be Ford Black Panther Pearl Paint, a fully smoothed and painted interior, billet steering wheel and rear view mirror, and custom wrapped integra GSR bucket seats with a headrest delete. The rollers are 22x9.5 Element Wheels wrapped in Kuhmo rubber.
