I watched this Snowy Egret (Egretta thula) for about a half hour. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful at catching anything for breakfast. I mentioned that to a fisherman who was tucked into some shrubbery at the shoreline. He said he also caught no fish and said "the only breakfast being eaten was me...I'm being eaten alive by bugs". I didn't see any mosquitoes, but I moved away from the shoreline after taking this picture hahaha.
(The white stuff in the water is fluff and seeds from aspen trees.)

Jian's arcade set, Splashy Spaniels, has the cutest animations. The companion {Number 2} shown here looks around, lays down and shakes water off in smooth transitions and on the cutest mesh doggie ever! Here my little pooch has decided that the the best place to shake off his excess water was upon my beach towel setting. Taking me from a peaceful calm into a chaotic frenzy of waving arms and legs. The bikini I am wearing is the latest offering by Cynful and is..............

Taken on a dank, foggy morning last autumn and inspired by a photograph taken by a very good local photographer by the name of Jack Bates, whose fine work has been an inspiration to so many in the area I live in for many years.
Adagio make us sad, makes us feel our pain, failures, lack of those who are no longer with us.
But having friendship and being able to share is an Ode to Joy.

It's been in the news: "This is the first big partial eclipse to happen in the UK since 1999, and the next one isn't until August 2026, so this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity." - So all gear set up and waiting - hoping for a glimpse of that "once-in-a-generation" event...
BUT the weather didn't play by the rules where I live: Muddy skiess all morning... No sun to be seen, let alone the moon trying to cover it up...
Still, with all the gear in place, when the clouds went I decided to do a shot of the sun (background image - HDR'ed) and "post-processed" my moon in with Photoshop afterwards.
Ha: If you cannot rely on UK clear skies, create your own eclipse! ;-)

Hello There!
In hopes of seeing Wood Ducks (not), I went to the pond which was covered with sheer ice. This poor fellow had just been chased off by another goose and it skid for about 20 feet. Great entertainment for me, although not for him!

What is it? It's the No Chance Saloon. It's Bedrock Bar, The End of the Line Cafe, The Bottom of the Sea Rathskeller! Don't you notice the beautiful calm in the atmosphere? That's because it's the last harbor. No one here has to worry about where they're going next, because there is no farther they can go. It's a great comfort to them. Although even here they keep up the appearances of life with a few harmless pipe dreams about their yesterdays and tomorrows, as you'll see for yourself if you're here long.
