Sometimes bygone springs, full of warmth and scents, blossom yet again inside us. And we carry them through the winter, protecting them with our chests. Then, one day, those bygone springs begin protecting our chests from the frost when we find ourselves on the other side of the window, where winter is not just a picture. It is now the ninth winter that I have had such a spring inside me, and it is still keeping me warm. Imagine, in this winter, two such springs touching like the scents of two meadows. That is what we need instead of overcoats. . .

In this shot I wanted to focus on the atmosphere within the lounge and restaurant at Lost Farm, the second major golf course at Barnbougle near Bridport, in northern Tasmania. The subdued lighting gives a warm welcoming feel to patrons who have either just played a round, or have decided that this is the most comfortable way to view proceedings.
As you can imagine this restaurant is very popular for functions and weddings as well. With those million dollar views (including the view to Ninth Island), how can you go wrong? Those using the 5 star accommodation facilities can either have all their meals here, or make use of the sports bar in the Lost Farm clubhouse for lunch. We can vouch for their wonderful breakfast menu, having stayed here a few years ago. Oh, and wine lovers need to check out their walk-in cellar. It will make you drool and your wallet a lot lighter.
There is even a day spa that provides the perfect way to recuperate from a busy lifestyle.
I've been in a chuckwagon twice and this is what it feels like from the wagon. There is a lot of communication between the driver and his horses through reins and words.

The beginning of the finale, or the Ninth Movement, is one of Mother Nature’s best creations in her Western desert repertoire. Like a classical concerto movement, the Milky Way performed her way across the horizon, and executed a perfect visual crescendo for the galaxy’s orchestra we cannot hear.

I have been visiting a heron (and egret) rookery in the middle of Santa Rosa, on West Ninth Street. Hundreds of birds are nesting in two eucalyptus trees while Sonoma County life (human) goes on about them. It has been amazing. This photo opens a series on the life (bird) that is going on there.

While exploring the flood damaged neighborhood of the Ninth Ward in New Orleans, we came across Dorian & Jonathan, two kids whose families have stuck it out in the area. They were walking home to ask their grandma if they could work at a local city farm for their first jobs.
kids are back to school finally... life is back to normal after a long hot and busy summer. Safe to say i will have some time now to rediscover the little things again... perhaps a little trip downtown and most of all, more actively visit everyone's stream... So sorry everyone!
Since its completion in 1933, the U.S. Post Office and Courthouse has been an important landmark in Alexandria, the county seat of Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Designed by Shreveport architect Edward F. Neild, under the supervision of the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department, the building is an excellent example of Depression-era Art Deco architecture. It was not only designed to serve a federal function but to express the permanence and presence of the federal government in the cities and communities in which the buildings were being constructed. However, the construction of the Alexandria U.S. Post Office and Courthouse in 1932-1933 was not simply a reflection of the growing needs of a city or federal court. As one of more than 1,300 public buildings built under the auspices of the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department during the early 1930's, the Alexandria building was an example of the government's use of federal construction projects to stimulate employment during the Depression. From 1926 to 1931, a series of legislation was enacted that culminated into this massive public building program. The Public Buildings Act of 1926 served as the catalyst, authorizing the construction of a number of buildings in communities previously without federal buildings. In 1928, appropriations allotted under the 1926 act were increased in response to U.S. Post Office and Department of the Treasury reports indicating a need for more space. As the effects of the Depression began to be felt all over the country, the government released additional funds in 1930 and 1931 for public building projects. During 1931, the Federal Employment Stabilization Act was passed to further stimulate the economy. This act permitted the president and congress to authorize additional appropriations for construction projects in order to facilitate employment. The 1930 and 1931 appropriations, coupled with the Federal Stabilization Act, were reflective of how the government used public works projects to combat the early years of the economic depression.
On May 18, 2000, the U.S. Post Office & Courthouse in Alexandria, LA was found to be eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places for its association with the federal construction programs designed to relieve the economic emergency of the Depression years (criteria A) and as an excellent example Art Deco architecture (criteria C) used in the design of public buildings during the 1930's. All of the information above (and much more) was found on the original documents submitted for listing consideration with the National Register and can be viewed here:

The Tsing Ma Bridge is a bridge in Hong Kong.[1] It is the world's ninth-longest span suspension bridge, and was the second longest at time of completion.[2] The bridge was named after two of the islands at its ends, namely Tsing Yi and Ma Wan. It has two decks and carries both road and rail traffic, which also makes it the largest suspension bridge of this type. The bridge has a main span of 1,377 metres (4,518 ft) and a height of 206 metres (676 ft). The span is the largest of all bridges in the world carrying rail traffic. (from Wikepedia)
A rather unexpected arrival at the Porth depot of Stagecoach in South Wales is this new 9m Alexander Dennis E20D MMC in corporate colours.
She has replaced an Optare Solo on Service 99 in Pontypridd. This operates a clockwise circuit of the town centre linking the Bus and Railway Stations, and has dispensation to use the Taff Street pedestrianised area. Most of the passengers are concessionary pass holders.
Operating every 15 minutes, she undertakes 33 town circuits in a working day, and was captured emerging from High Street on her ninth rounder during her first week in service in mid May 2018.
