"Scattered about London there were just three other buildings of similar appearance and size. So completely did they dwarf the surrounding architecture that from the roof of Victory Mansions you could see all four of them simultaneously. They
were the homes of the four Ministries between which the entire apparatus of government was divided. The Ministry of Truth, which concerned itself with news, entertainment, education, and the fine arts. The Ministry of Peace, which concerned itself with war. The Ministry of Love, which maintained law and order. And the Ministry of Plenty, which was responsible for economic affairs. Their names, in Newspeak: Minitrue, Minipax, Miniluv, and Miniplenty.
The Ministry of Love was the really frightening one. There were no windows in it at all. "
George Orwell, Nineteen Eighty-Four.

The ominous looking building of the Caixa Geral de Depositos headquarters in Lisbon. It has a definitely totalitarian vibe in daylight, at night it's downright chilling. It has windows after all, but the first time we saw it was at night and it looked completely devoid of them.
Thank you everyone for your visits, faves and comments, they are always appreciated :)

These wintering American white pelicans (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos) have made the Viera Wetlands particularly delightful in recent weeks. I'll take white pelicans over real swans any day!

Frosty cheeks - that is what you will get if you sit down here! Such a bitterly cold morning and a very hard frost made the park bench rather uninviting!
Early on a cold and cloudy morning there were NINETEEN (maybe more ?) Mergansers cruising Baldwin Lake at the Los Angeles County Arboretum, Arcadia CA - now there are ? Well, at least they were still there today after the rains !!
100 X - Nineteen - like the way the sun has gave me a high key effect with this one :-) This is as it was in camera no enhancements of colours or anything :-)
Wishing you all a great Friday and even better weekend :-) thanks so much for the continual visits/comments and faves - much appreciated :-) take care Linda x
An offering for the sake of offering, perhaps. Anyhow, it was her gift. Nothing else had she of the slightest importance; could not think, write, even play the piano. She muddled Armenians and Turks; loved success; hated discomfort; must be liked; talked oceans of nonsense: and to this day, ask her what the Equator was, and she did not know.

The small bore at Cathedral is seen as an eastbound works upgrade out of Field, BC earlier this winter.

I know this is very late, simply because I fell ill on friday and couldn’t take any pictures. apart from that I had a quite relaxing week. no exams, no tests. I hardly did anything for school and it felt so good. but I know that my a-levels are not that far away and that really scares me.
you know you want to view this large.
you can expect more photos with those butterflies. :)
you might know the branch from here. it was prettier then.
while I took these a fox ran past me. I didn't move and just looked at it, it was wonderful.

I just realized, the more I use my camera in public the less I care about the audience. This time three policemen sat behind the model but I just ignored everything and focused on the shot. Hope I'll become even more at ease later on, maybe next time I ask one of them to be the model.

Should all our friends betray us?
Are you a french kiss in the chaos?
Please don't let me down
In this hard time for dreamers
Are you a port in stormy season?
Will you let me down?
hey I got a tumblr! Follow me!
So I got my Mark II back from the shot so I am going to start back up on my pictures again! Stay tuned!
Final photograph in a series of a grain silo built in 1898, Sanger, Texas.
There was very little post processing in this photograph. The colors in these silos is just remarkable. I have no idea where the pink came from, but it was there.
The Nineteen Arches Bridge in Arklow is the longest handmade stone bridge in Ireland and is considered a famous landmark. The plaque on the south end of the bridge is testimony to this.

Day 10 of 365 days.
Week nineteen of fifty-two weeks.
This photo & this photo are brothers.
This is probably one of the creepiest photos I have done. But I am in love with trying new things. One day I feel like doing a simple portrait, another a conceptional piece, then maybe a golden hour photo. It's always wonderful having variety instead of just the same style. :) & I am literally obsessed with textures now<3 They add so much!
Today I am/already did:
-shopping.
-mowed the lawn.
-helped clean the yard up.
-took a picture.
-relax.
Hope you all are having a lovely day. Thank you for the support.<3
