St. Marien-Kirche is a medieval basilica in the city centre of LĂ¼beck, Germany. Built between 1265 and 1352, the church is located on the highest point of LĂ¼beck's old town island within the Hanseatic merchants' quarter.

St. Mary’s has the highest brick vault in the world at 38.5 metres. Its two towers, outside, are about 125 metres high.

The church is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A Mourning Dove flying in to one of our feeding stations. She almost landed on our deck where I was photographing her!

In the visual arts, shape is a flat, enclosed area of an artwork created through lines, textures, or colours, or an area enclosed by other shapes, such as triangles, circles, and squares. Likewise, a form can refer to a three-dimensional composition or object within a three-dimensional composition.

I stumbled across this vantage point on one of the hottest days of the year so far and I didn't have filters and tripod with me. I promise myself I will revisit soon and equipped for a long exposure.

A Sandhill Crane flyover at the Vancouver Lake Lowlands. The Columbia Landtrust manages a 527 acre property that attracts Cranes in record numbers. This is a wintering ground along the Pacific Flyway. They spend about 8 months in the Pacific Northwest from October to April. I love the sounds and calls the Sandhill Cranes make!

A female Lesser Goldfinch foraging for seeds in the cones of the Black-eyed Susans. We do not trim back the seed heads which contain Rudbeckia seeds, that the finches love to eat. Today we had 22 Lesser Goldfinches in foraging the seed heads!

I put fresh seed out on top of the one inch of freezing rain to make it easier for the birds to reach the seed. However, the FOSP chose to dig the seed out with his huge claws. He has a piece of cracked corn in his beak with a bit of ice on it. He also has ice crystals on his tail and feathers. FOSPs are one of my favorite Winter visators.

It’s not called a kingbird for nothing. The Eastern Kingbird has a crown of yellow, orange, or red feathers on its head, but the crown is usually concealed. When it encounters a potential predator the kingbird may simultaneously raise its bright crown patch, stretch its beak wide open to reveal a red gape, and dive-bomb the intruder.

Many thanks to everyone that views and comments on my images - very much appreciated.

This Band-tailed Pigeon was the last to leave our yard and rejoin his flock. This BTPI wanted to finish his snack before flying away!

Today was a very windy and chilly day in Camas, Washington. We are supposed to hit a low of 19 degrees tonight! We are prepared, and all six of the heated Hummingbird Feeders are now back outside. This female Anna's Hummingbird is making a beeline to one of those feeders and dodging many other friends along the way.

Straight out of the camera colors from the Z9.
