I just started Jr High when Grand Prix hit the theaters. And that’s when my love for cars began. Particularly Formula One Racing, and I’ve been a fan ever since. There was a segment in the movie when Director John Frankenheimer used a divided split-screen collage of different racing scenes that was quite unique. It caught my attention for the way I actually photograph today…capturing not the whole car, but parts of the car. Recalling that scene, the redline revving prompt me to photograph this engine of a Ford GT40.

Title has nowt to do with the picture - I've just bought a Voigtlander 40mm specifically to put on the front of my Nikon Df with the intention of leaving it on more or less permanently. They make a great wee combo and get on beautifully well. A wee roadside snap from Tuesday morning when I was fortunate to be in the right place when a wee bit of light came through. A minute earlier would have been good but we can't have absolutely everything we want.

Reached the last station in the west and found nothing interesting.
