Very nice views from Lofoten Islands, Nordland, Norway. ...worth of visiting - indeed!
This is for my friend in Norway :-)
Just after Midnight a thundercloud was torn and there appeared red rising crescent. Maybe red color was cause it was raining slightly and sky was full of humid air...?
Big wheel keeps on turning.
The SS Sicamous was launched in 1914 and for many years connected rail lines and towns on Okanagan Lake. Built by the Canadian Pacific Railroad, the vessel operated until 1937 and is currently beached as a part of a heritage shipyard operated by the S.S. Sicamous Restoration Society in Penticton. The ship is 200 feet long (61 metres) and was the largest ship plying the waters of Okanagan lake. The ship had five decks when built and in 1935 two of the decks were removed, turning the ship to mainly a cargo carrier.

I was alone on the top of the big fell... I hoped to see some Auroras but there was only some weak ones. But I liked the fine bright moonlight and enjoyed this gorgeous landscape :)
Dared again to take night photos without a tripod. Didn't want to spend the whole day carrying it around the city (my cell phone actually counted 20 km that day...). Riding the Ferris wheel was a great pleasure, even if it turned quite slowly, for the thrill I would have liked perhaps a little more speed. But it was an unforgettable experience.
Constructed in 1897. According to Wikipedia, its purpose was to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Emperor Franz Josef I, and it was one of the earliest Ferris wheels ever built. It was built with 30 gondolas, but was severely damaged in World War II and when it was rebuilt, 15 gondolas were replaced.
The wheel appeared in many movies, e.g. in the 1987 James Bond film, The Living Daylights.
wish you all a nice and happy thuesday my friend :))**
