Using the fence to steady my camera I was about to take the shot when this appeared in my viewfinder
Lucky I had my Lens hood on as he gave me a nudge to let me know he wanted attention
Portsmouth historic and military dockyard. The rather large Ironclad in the foreground is HMS Warrior, and you can see HMS Victory behind the clock tower.
Now I'm going to run away before the Military police come and arrest me for spreading secrets to the enemy!
P.s. Those of you who've seen Mark's picture of a Martian fighting machine here will be interested to know that it was a ship similar to the Warrior on that actually managed to achive something against the Martians. The Thunderchild was an Ironclad, and actually managed to take some of the S.o.B.'s down. Didn't do her all that much good though....
Trying out a cheap set of ND filters on a Photography club outing.
I've always wanted to try out those long daylight exposures shots but wasn't prepared to fork out a load of cash just on a whim
So I bought a cheap set of 8 ND filters + Cokin P Holder and 9 lens adaptor rings and Hood for only £12.99, less than the price of 1 cokin filter
They work well, get the effect you want, white balance can be an issue so need to set it to manual and use a white card or you can fix it in post processing.
Still a work in progress but if I get the bug I can buy the better Cokins and still use the same Holder.
I have to mention on this trip, one of the guys was using Lee Filters (£115 each)!! Misjudged the position of his tripod leg, It toppled over and Bam, one cracked filter, camera was Ok, I felt his pain
