Without any doubt, the most captivating casteller I had in focus during the festivities - Helena Osorio (13).

There wasn't a single capture from the dozens of shots I made after discovering her from my elevated location (on the top of the stairs overlooking the square) where she didn't lit up the scene with her radiance, as if the shots were a result of repeated studio snaps. Something I did not encountered since covering the stage performances of my dancer muse Ivet more than a decade ago.

The ending of her nickname (Helenita) visible on her mouthgard at a closeup snap from the day before was a first clue that lead me to her full name, as I found media reports she was featured in from 2019.

Aesthetic, emotive, storytelling impressions of the skilled tower builders snapped during the intense, 12 day long Fiesta de Santa Tecla held annually in Tarragona, Catalonia.

A castell is a human tower built traditionally at festivals in Catalonia. At these festivals, several colles castelleres (teams that build towers) attempt to build and then dismantle a tower's structure. On 16 November 2010, castells were declared by UNESCO to be amongst the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

In addition, on the last day four casteller teams were competing in pilars caminant, that is walking towers. From the stairs of the Cathedral to the Town Hall the teams were walking in a 3 person tower formations (held by a base) as fast as possible and staying steady (not collapsing) at the same time. This year only two teams fully completed the task.

Here is a live footage of the event aired on the local TV TAC 12 to get the full grasp of it >>> www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wOweTax23g - You can spot me in action from 35:35 to 36:00 in the right part of the screen, in khaki, beard, fuzzy greyish hair :)

It was one of the most demanding assignments I had as a photographer, but it was worth the time and money invested.

Thank you to all who caught my attention, it was an immense amount of skills, radiance, emotions and energy concentrated.

Gràcies, sou tots fantàstics! Salut i força al canut!

Do hope there will be opportunities in the future to document the event, or the meet some of the teams. do some shoots with the castellers!

There will be sporadic uploads out of the thousands of snaps from the set for sure, but no more huge batches.

Appreciate all the Likes and Comments!

A candid balcony muse of mine, Emma (according her necklace, visible on some of the snaps), captured from afars during the last day of the Festa de Santa Tecla 2024 in Tarragona, Catalonia.

Used the fact of her perfect unaware poses to create a photoshoot worthy collection of her in edit, using the Mirror tool to place the section of the building wall beside her balcony onto the people who were around her at all time. Then I changed the hue of the wall (orange in real world) to create more complementing colors, or simply tinted the snap.

With a group of very talented people.

This is my friend Lauren, she came up from Miami to hang out for a bit, and we decided to shoot in my new house. This is the first of many photos from my "house studio". I would really love to get some feedback on this photo, because it feels like my first real 'shoot'

anything i can improve, i'd love to . . . so please tell me !

Also, this girl lives in Miami, so if anyone in that area wants to set up a shoot . . . message me, i'll put you in contact.

Here's her port - Lauren.

Thanks everyone !
