undercurrent New Atlantis 002

New Atlantis

The city of Starfield, which is set in 2330 AD, is expressed as a virtual photography from the perspective of the ‘undercurrent’ humans who live in the ‘silent beings’ structures that make up the city.

Today, the world based on mathematics and science rather than humanity, and in particular the world of the internet, is gaining a greater presence. In big data, the presence and thoughts of each individual human being are quantified and encoded as a mere ‘1’. In the future, in the 2330s, science will advance even further, and our feelings, sensations, humanity and philosophy may be treated as an aggregate of ‘1s’, a more fundamental element than they are today.

The components of Starfield's cities have an overwhelming presence, towering above the ‘1’, the human being. The theme of this group of photographs is to capture the world composed of the layers of silence of these ‘silent beings’ in each city from the perspective of the human being as ‘1’.

This is a nostalgic interpretation of Starfield, which is set in 2330 AD, as a black and white landscape photograph.

In the present day, the 2020s, science is leaps and bounds ahead of what it was then, but the emphasis seems to be more on the aspect of awe and threat as an impediment to humanity. However, the design of the buildings and cities that make up Starfield are rather retro-futuristic, evoking a nostalgic and retro feeling, reminiscent of the 1950s and 1960s, now in the 2020s.

What I wanted to represent was a landscape that includes buildings, products, fashion, and landscapes that build Starfield into a "place to return to," a place to regain humanity, rather than a science that inhibits humanity.

Two teams vie to be victorious as two chains swing wildly in the wind as they compete on an asphalt court decorated by graffiti-slathered walls and an enthusiastic, raw crowd that cheers each game along without ever needing referees or shot clocks - there's just pure, unfiltered basketball without shot clocks or referees; everyone just leaves everything out on the court, including driving hard toward goal or using flashy back passes; players shout, taunt and support each other with passion throughout each matchup as players shout, taunt, cheer each other with exuberant enthusiasm while taking part. Off the court, your career choices could take many unexpected twists and turns. Will you stay with the familiarity of your first team or go after more exposure with a big market franchise that might offer lucrative contracts? Your choices impact not just yourself and the storyline you live out but how the entire universe reacts as well.

Streetball stands out among basketball formats in terms of its freedom. No strict playbooks exist here--merely creativity and instinct are encouraged for maximum player enjoyment. Participants are encouraged to take risks such as trying an alley-oop off the backboard or performing flashy dribble moves against opposing defense players. NBA 2K25 is a game made for players who buy PS5 games without considering the price and not being displeased when most of the things offered are not that different than what one knows. The game's physics engine adapts to the unpredictable nature of streetball, with loose balls bouncing off the cracked pavement and bodies colliding midair - every move feels personal; each play showcases individual skill. Legends are made not by following rules but rather by breaking them spectacularly.
