Today was the last true Summer Friday of the season, and we made the best of it.
The day started with heading over to the track. It was cool -- genuinely cool! -- at 6:20, which led Pookie to go after and claim a new personal record for fastest mile! (She proceeded to go a snail's pace for the next two miles.) Then the work day was productive, which Pookie slaying the last of the three big projects looming over the summer. Schnookie hit up the farm and picked sauce tomatoes for the first time this year. So it begins.
The highlight was meeting up with Sarah and the kids for ice cream! Clark, the most thoughtful 10-year-old boy ever, wanted to give Pookie an early birthday present of an Assassin's Creed action figure. Is that not the cutest thing ever?!
Then it was nap time, in the most glorious summer napping weather. After naps, Boomer and Pookie had a good laugh teasing Hegle, who was sitting in the upstairs window, by throwing peach pits at the house. Heh heh heh. Then we all had a rare and delicious treat of raw tomato pasta on taco night, paired with moar Matlock, moar Matlock!
Basically, it was the best Summer Friday a girl could ask for.
