In the Children's Garden at Dauset Trails there are lots of butterflies enjoying the great variety of flowers. This short video shows off one of the more active areas with lots of butterflies and bees.
There was also a chorus of birds and other wildlife songs... and unfortunately a weird metallic alien invasion sound going on, as well as a plane flying overhead, too. So, in order to save your ears I've decided to add music instead.
Just some of the reasons why the Children's Garden is one of our favorite destinations at Dauset Trails.
Fractured Sandstone Cliff, Plants. © Copyright 2012 G Dan Mitchell – all rights reserved.
Plants grow in cracks in a sandstone cliff, Zion Naitonal Park.
One unanticipated result of the pandemic restrictions on travel has been that I’ve had plenty of time to start digging through my archive of photographs made over the years. In some cases I have “discovered” photograph files that I had originally left behind, either because I didn’t understand how the image could work at that time or because I simply got distracted by other things and moved on. In addition to finding these “lost files,” the process of revisiting old work has caused me to rethink my original presentation of some photographs that I thought I was done with. This is one of those photographs.
The subject is in Zion National Park, where it is easy to find all sorts of interesting things along the red rock canyon walls. As I looked at my first take on this photograph, done eight years ago, I felt that I wanted to interpret it a bit differently. This version is cropped a bit more tightly, and I’ve handled the dynamic range of the scene a bit differently, perhaps retaining a bit more of the feeling subjects shaded by tall cliffs.
G Dan Mitchell is a California photographer and visual opportunist. His book, “California’s Fall Color: A Photographer’s Guide to Autumn in the Sierra” is available from Heyday Books and Amazon.

Dozens of previously hidden jets and outflows from young stars are revealed in this new image of the Cosmic Cliffs from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope’s Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam). The Cosmic Cliffs, a region at the edge of a gigantic, gaseous cavity within NGC 3324, has long intrigued astronomers as a hotbed for star formation.
In this image, red, green, and blue were assigned to Webb’s NIRCam data at 4.7, 4.44, and 1.87 microns (F470N, F444W, and F187N filters, respectively).
The file is available at 928.16 million pixels for download at a resolution of 40000x23204 pixels.

New color of a popular print! Flamingo pink on white.
Features the Audrey Hepburn quote:
"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."

New version of the classic Triumph Bonneville. Better brakes, better ignition system and better seals - as the oil puddles beneath them is considerably smaller.
selfportrait little red ridding hood and the financial wolf
Little Red Ridding Hood: Stop harassing me! Don´t insist, I´ll never be yours
Financial Wolf: But I love youuuuuuuuuuuuu
Little Red Ridding Hood: You´re nothing but a liar, you only want my money, not my heart.
Financial wolf: Grrrr you got me! But tell me at least where is your grandmother.
Little Red Ridding Hood: Sorry but she donated all her money to a NGO that fights against hunger.
Financial Wolf: Oh noooooooooo! And the hunter, where is him?
Little Red Ridding Hood: He broke all his weapons, and now he become an ecological farmer that
cultivates non-transgenic maize :P
Financial Wolf: Damn! This is the end!
My new version of this classic tale is funny, isn´t it?
Selfportrait made with only one hand,
(the other was holding the puppet show :P)
I had a bad day, just needed a tiny drop of irony.
Maybe one of my few visitors is now grinning
from ear to ear, that was my intention,
to make you smile :)
Games without frontiers.
It´s not a secret that when
people lose their capacity
of playing then begin to die.
There´s a lot of vanity in Flickr. Sorry if you love it, but I´m not one of that kind, ´cos I´m modest and my ego enters in my pocket. I´m shy and all my selfportraits are a therapy.
Note: From late may 2009, until october 30th 2010 I showed my face, now for secury reasons these selfportraits are become private (just for the few flicker friends).
P.S. Dear voyeur (presumed dumb) :P
many thanks for your indiference about my art :P
and dear thief (presumed with more snout
than a tapir :P), Please do not use my photographs,
paintings, drawings, cartoons, poems, translations
and words on websites, blogs or any other media
without my explicit permission.

autorretrato caperucita roja y el lobo financiero
Caperucita Roja: ¡Déja de acosarme! No insistas, nunca seré tuya.
Lobo financiero: Pero yo te quierouuuuuuuuu
Caperucita Roja: No eres más que un mentiroso, tú sólo quieres mi dinero, no mi corazón.
Lobo Financiero: Grrrr ¡Me pillaste!
P.D. Querido/a mirón/a (presumiblemente mudo/a),
,muchas gracias por tu indiferencia acerca de mi arte :P

This at least 100 years old gold ring belongs to an old friend of my parents who got it AFTER most of his family didn't survive the Holocaust. That's why he is so attached to it. I wonder if you can feel the story through the image.

I think I may have listed this as the previous. The Licence plate should identify it?
It is as I have listed it.
New script version of my popular "I Believe in Pink - Audrey Hepburn Quote" print.
The words, in shades of pink, read:
"I believe in pink. I believe that
laughing is the best calorie burner.
I believe in kissing, kissing a lot.
I believe in being strong when
everything seems to be going
wrong. I believe that happy girls
are the prettiest girls. I believe
that tomorrow is another day
and I believe in miracles."

i like the new photo i made today better than the old one

sculpture trouvée, amsterdam
Now operational in Sheffield..
The new shape and with tail lift too..
Some good reactions to the vehicle and a few negative so far.. Mainly to do with having very few flat roads (in Sheffield) for the tail lift to work properly on!
I work for Yorkshire Ambulance Service on the RRVs in and around the city of Sheffield in South Yorkshire.
It’s a great job and I feel very honoured to be able to help people at their point of need.

I think I'm sort of a day behind again, as this is really yesterday's story, but it's today's photo.
I've been waiting for a new software version for a while, and perhaps a little to my surprise the Windows Phone 8.1 upgrade landed on my work Lumia 620 first, and is yet to arrive on my own 920.
I'm getting to grips with what the new features are, including the swishy flow keyboard and improved sound settings.
Unfortunately the new digital assistant hasn't reached the UK yet, being available only in the States so far. One of the nicer features of this is that you can assign an 'inner circle' and 'quiet times' so that during the night you can set your phone to alert you only to texts and calls from a selected subset of numbers. That should at least prevent some of those middle of the night calls from drunken people. :)
Saskatchewan deserves its own version of Wuthering Heights. The stone ruin is a building I photographed some years ago in the southeast of the province. Can't quite remember where in SK I took the background photo. The person is me in an old wedding dress from value village. It pays to have a good tickle trunk around!
This is the second version of this image. You can see the earlier one a few photos back in the photostream. I'm a little happier with the hair and dress, and I added at little mist too.
