Taken for Smile on Saturdays: Time pieces
This is my teenage son's clock. He used to have an "old fashioned" alarm clock (with the digital red numbers) but it wouldn't keep the time properly. He recently purchased this Echo Dot from Amazon and I have to say it is a pretty cool little gadget. Yes, it does "listen" to you but I don't have anything I need to "hide" from the government! LOL! Ask it anything and it will answer you. You just have to say "Alexa, what is the temperature outside today?" Or "Alexa, play 80's music" and it will do what you say. I taught my kid something new and he thinks its funny..."Alexa, fart!" and it really will make the farting sound! No, I never grew up...LOL! When it comes to this image I wished I had asked Alexa to do something, then the bottom of the device would have lit up bright blue...oh well....Happy Smile on Saturday to all!!
Thanks for your visit, comments and favs!
Rags does not see the point in technologies like vacuum cleaners. His tongue works fine for cleaning and does not need electricity....

portable rgb panel light i ordered online just arrived yesterday. interesting gadget that can provide instant light when needed specially for vlogging. it can provide different types of light settings, that includes light temperature, which is a cool feature
This is such an awesome view when you're standing there in real life and seeing everything in 3D, which includes a sense of depth and distance, an experience no photograph is capable of truly capturing.
Tú observas absorto los dibus
Mientras yo miro absorto hacia ti
Y he de confesar que todavía
A veces me froto los ojos...

The Wallingford Screen is a spectacular reredos in St.Alban's Cathedral, Hertfordshire, England. Completed in 1484 by Abbot William of Wallingford, the statues are replacements of 1884-89 for ones destroyed during the iconoclasm of the Reformation.
For a limited time - which began in March 2023 - St Albans Chathedral has been able to show how wonderful the screen may have looked in medieval times by digitally "colouring" the statues.
The Cathedral has worked in close partnership with Hogarth, a marketing implementation agency (part of WPP group), to explore ground-breaking techniques for bringing history to life, using the latest technology from Panasonic and Epic Games.
Cutting edge scanning and projection techniques using Reality Capture software brought to life the 15th century screen and 19th century statues with a millimetre-accurate 3D scan and re-colourisation, based on historic research by Dr James Alexander Cameron.
The colours have been produced by artist Amara Por Dios, and the technology was used to train apprentices in WPP’s Creative Technology Apprenticeship programme, which aims to diversify the emerging technology workforce.
I remember a fantastic conversation with the godfather of the (fill the blank; nude/erotic/pornographic) photography in California about his work. In the most youthful smile that I've ever seen, he said; "we just had fun and we were happy"..
It was the 60's, and his pictures are fulfilled by smiling and laughing faces. Meadow, beaches, californian homes, with flashy colors and bright cinematic lights. Something accessible for everyone, just a bit of excitement and a slice of fantasy... For the fun, 50 years later, without regarding the act itself I just can see cocaine eyes in glaucous indoors, the anger and the sadness in the faces and the violence of the bodies. No matter what they show or what they do it's just aggression and a struggle for the dominant place. The bodies seem to reject everything or act without heart and soul.. Just a fight, in the big wave of the pre trans/post-humanismrather, a boon for the market of the newtechnologies and the materialization of our mind.
Maybe we have created here another fertile soil for the global blindess.
The Legged Squad Support System (LS3) walks around the Kahuku Training Area July 10, 2014 during the Rim of the Pacific 2014 exercise. The LS3 is experimental technology being tested by the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab during RIMPAC 2014. It is programmed to follow an operator through terrain, carrying heavy loads like water and food to Marines training. There are multiple technologies being tested during RIMPAC, the largest maritime exercise in the Pacific region. This year's RIMPAC features 22 countries and around 25,000 people. Macro Monday - New Technology - 4TB G-Tech Hard Drive. One of the hard drives used to store all my music, films and photo's. The drive light on the front flashes when it's reading or writing to disk illuminating the inside. Light painted the G on the front with a torch during the second exposure, whilst holing a bit of blue glass over the the light to stop the hight lights blowing out too much.

When the Post Office Tower (now known as the BT Tower after the privatisation of the GPO) was opened in London in 1966 it was, until 1980, the tallest building in the capital and it is still a very visible landmark on the city's skyline. Built primarily to allow microwave based transmission of phone and television data at a time when demand for such services was growing rapidly. The Tower sat next to the existing 'Museum' telephone exchange (its lattice tower can be seen next to the tower base) and it was the hub for a nationwide sequence of similar towers and structures. The architects were from the Ministry of Public Buildings and Works (in the days when we had them) and are given as E Bedford and G R Yeats. The structural and electrical engineers are S G Silhan, J J Taylor and N Lampitt. The Tower was built by Peter Lind & Co. This rather fine booklet was produced as a souvenir and priced at 2s 6d (12.5p). In those days access to the public viewing platforms and the famous revolving restaurant was part of the design; all are now closed off due to security issues.

I listen to my radio all the time, we don't have cable t.v. so this is one way I get the news.
Oliver came with his wife Breezee and got recruited as a model. Here he is wearing one of Alchemi Lab's River Sun Hats. What is cool about the hat is that it uses the silver material used in rescue blankets that is super thin and light to reflect the sun.
