Spent all day at my parents making Christmas cookies. I love to bake so I'll be making quite a few more batches in the next couple weeks.
These chocolate sprinkle cookies also have a dark chocolate hershey's kiss on top. Chocolate overload!

tried a new recipe - very good! Short ribs are pretty fatty though - might try a different cut of meat next time.

These red sugar coated sugar cookies were so tasty! Crisp and chewy at the same time. Yum!

I woke up today with an urge to make new-to-me cookies. It seemed like the Newer, Better Life thing to do. So I made the brown butter shorties from Smitten Kitchen. I'd never browned butter before, but with help from Schnookie and Boomer, it turned out great. Schnookie informed me later that I probably should of weighed the flour for better results; next time, next time. The cookies turned out awesome!
The cookies could have been rolled in sanding sugar, but the only kind we have is confetti colored, so I only rolled three cookies in it. I should have done them all because those three turned out adorable.

Refreshing and crunchy
2C cracked or slicked Asian cukes
1/2 - 1C. tomatoes.
2T minced green onion
2T sesame oil
1T apple vinegar or pure vinegar
2t. soysauce
1/4t salt
put into bowl and mix well. taste best if made a couple hours ahead esp. if you like a fuller infused flavour.

Pasta with fresh tomatoes, basil, and corn. I added toasted sliced almonds. The pasta is refreshing tossed in red wine vinegar & scallion.
Next time, I'll add grilled chicken.
