New Mexico

This was taken on the Zia Reservation a few miles outside Albuquerque, New Mexico. There is enough soil and moisture in the porous rock that this tree is able to survive. Nature is truly marvelous.

There is a shield on the right but it is difficult to tell what the figure behind it looks like. This painting is on a protected east facing volcanic outcrop.

My own footprints in the wind-rippled gypsum dunes of White Sands National Monument.

Road Runners are given that name for a reason. They are fast and hard to spot. Seen only one.

Sunrise light on all the greenery along this lake in New Mexico.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Wow. Glad to have gotten the hell out of there. It's nice when you can go over 100 mph and there's no traffic. :D

Taken on Rt. 6 on Laguna Pueblo on the way to Los Lunas, New Mexico.

Crazy it's only just half way through November. So much for desert life :)

Visited Taos Pueblo again -- I sometimes stop by there when going to Santa Fe, New Mexico. It's a very interesting (and very old) community of Native Americans.

This was a pretty capture taken from the Rio Grand River Gorge Bridge looking back at the setting sunlight on the clouds. If you look closely though, hidden there in the brush are about 10 to 12 bighorn sheep. Most are there in the right bottom of the frame, not far from the gorge ledge.

Two more "butts" can be seen about mid frame.

A sunset while in New Mexico ... somebody was really spray painting I think ;)

Eroded rock in Bandelier National Monument

A real joy standing there in the flow with my hiking water shoes on ... quite refreshing.

During the Flickr meet-up

Odd way to describe distance but I'm pretty sure there has been weirder.

Location: Carlsbad Caverns National Park Natural Entrance

Quite an amazing sign, from a time when amazing signs were almost commonplace.

Sunrise happens there at this pretty lake in northwest New Mexico. Saw the lake as we were heading towards Arizona early in the morning, and figured it would be a good spot to explore a little as the sun came up.
