La prima cosa da mettere in una nuova cucina? Peonie!

Natural light, natural wood and naturally... a dog. =)

Hudson is a bull dog/pit bull mix. He's very well trained and a sweetie! This was our first photo shoot and he was such a trooper! Great dog! He lives with Caymas the blue cane corso several pics back on my stream. I photographed him too. They were both so good!

Unfortunately, I threw my neck out laying on the floor for over an hour. Boy that part was not fun but worth it.

with lots of eggs to hide!

Happy Easter friends!! Hope yours was filled with loved ones, chocolate or both! :)

a sneak peek at the new kitchen

Well, it's cluttered already, and we haven't finished filling the cupboards yet! But it looks SO much better than before! I love my microwave, but as Mike the builder said, it is huge! The clever gang fitted it top to bottom, including lowering the ceiling to cover an original beam there that ran from the hall to the back room. They knocked out the chimney breast to instal a new fitted oven, and rebuilt our windows! Things did go awry at times, but Mike is a determined guy and always looks for ways around things. Hope you like it as much as we do!

The only thing is, we want to buy new tea, coffee and sugar cannisters, but we want to go for individual ones, for a slightly personal look, but it's very hard the best ones are on sites like Etsy, but they won't ship to the UK! The hunt goes!!

(Please see notes above)

One day soon it will be all finished and amazing

It works!!

Middle of week five and the new kitchen is usable. A few things to finish off (replacement worktop next Tuesday and then fixing the splashbacks, bit more painting, under unit lights and the cornice).

The second kitchen can now be ripped out to allow relocation of waste pipes etc. from upstairs bathroom to facilitate the knocking through of the wall.

View of our small kitchen from the family room area. We took down a split bar counter and added storage underneath our new "peninsula". We also got rid of the low ceiling over the kitchen area. Well worth it! Cabinets are Ikea. Carrara marble for the counter, Stainless Steel apliances.

You can catch a glimpse at a ghost behind the fridge. Louis Ghost Armchair by Kartell

designed by Philippe Starck in the dining room.

The units are all in and the electrical goods wired in. Just need the sink connecting to the plumbing and the tiles on the wall.

Oliver made sure to fill the space between two of the boxes we were unpacking to get the new kitchen ready!

My baby (Bertazzoni range) looking good with a Skinny Laminx kitchen towel -I know it is backwards, but I like it like this.

Hella Jongerius' fox peeks from the left.

more details on the picture here

... while saying that we are "getting there" seems like a very long distance from the current moment, this is a glimpse of the shiny white kitchen {actually the cooking corner with our new Bosch oven & glass/ceramic cooktop : ) } him & I built on our own, based on the design I made with Ikea planner. More details sometime soon!

I'm so looking forward to more progress and to a repaired camera so that I can be photographing properly again!

To all those who sent "get well" wishes, thank you very much! It's the first day that recovery seems like not so far anymore :)

Have a nice Thursday ~

Thanks for stopping to view, comment and fave all are very much appreciated :o)

For those who wanted to see the new look :)

Happy Facedown Tuesday!

New kitchen! See those swanky green tiles and admire the fact that the Pure Evoke II no longer is precariously positioned on top of a cupboard!

Lights under the cupboards and everything!

2xYn560 bounced from the wall, ceiling

The walls still need doing and we have to put all our stuff away, but the kitchen part is finished in this pic.

Heath ceramics tile (Modern Basics) on the fireplace and backsplash. Love the tile, hate installing it... nothing personal, I just don't like installing tile!

The poster is still a favorite of mine, even with all its overexposure.

This is the center of the whole kitchen. I love how it looks, and I love how it performs. Money well spent.

Alessi 'tea kettle with bird whistle’ designed by Michael Graves. Our trusty Bialetti Moka next to it.

I've designed some pretty packaging for my cup cake magnets, as lots of my customers are buying them as gifts.

A small family room in the works at the other end of the room. Why are TVs so ugly?

Looking good... :) Oven and refrigerator installed, stove express ordered because missing, and one day to go before it should be fully functional.

A full day's work - looks just the same, right? Wall paper removed and holes drilled (and redrilled) for electric stuff...

Apollo Kitchens – A Leader in Kitchen Installation and Renovation

We at Apollo Kitchens have proven ourselves as an industry leader when it comes to kitchen design, installation and renovations. We serve clients both in the domestic and commercial setups. Our kitchens stand out from the rest for our one-of-a-kind designs and innovative layouts.

Expert Service from a Professional Team

Whichever design you can think of, we match and beat the latest. The ideas we apply in new kitchens for our clients are all generated by a brilliant, creative team. Moreover, our prices are set to cater for all budgets. Whether your budget is big or small, we still make sure the latest trends in design are incorporated into your cooking space.

The installation process is thoroughly managed by our team of supervisors and executed by able workmen. We are thoroughly meticulous when it comes to details. If you’re thinking of getting either an indoor or outdoor kitchen, we have the best ideas and designs for you.

High Quality Complemented by Customization

In our designs, we incorporate as much of your ideas as practically possible. We also refine them so we go beyond your expectation. Our highly customized kitchens are one of the reasons why we have built a name for ourselves in the kitchen installation market.

We wouldn’t be so highly placed if our products and services didn’t adhere to legally set standards. This includes standards like the Australian/New Zealand standard 4386.1: 1996 (Domestic Kitchen Assemblies) and the Housing Industry Association guidelines.

Top-notch Renovation Service

Your renovation can run smoothly if you let us manage the entire process. We will help you brainstorm on ideas if you’re stuck or can’t decide what exactly you want to have. The cost of renovation is fair and quite competitive, for both small and large kitchens. We also do our best to deliver within the set time frame. Trust us, we know just how to make kitchen makeovers fun and exciting. We have handled a good number of remodeling jobs.

Sleek and pristine is the general air of modern and contemporary styles. We are increasingly leaning towards making the kitchen a dining space also. This being so, we also adjust your lighting to create the perfect atmosphere for dining. We are able to strike a wonderful balance between a working environment and an unwinding space with your kitchen. We can also incorporate certain accessories and fixtures to make it even more beautiful.

The Best Components for Your Kitchen

Modern luxury kitchens are becoming all the rage. For the room to be luxurious, every bit of it must be over the top. We stock quality ultra-modern appliances to that effect and use only the best materials available in the market for your hardware and fittings.

Our online gallery is filled with exquisite designs of cabinets. To go along with that, we have a showcase of practical yet beautiful shelving components in our showrooms.

Based on the specific needs, we install stainless steel benches, as the surfaces tend to stay cool, discouraging bacteria and certain types of fungi from multiplying and creating a health hazard. Benchtops made out of Caesar stone are a major highlight of our kitchens. Another feature you’ll notice is the laminate benchtops. Hettich and Blum soft close hinges make sure your cabinet doors and drawers close quietly and smoothly.

Highly Efficient and Safe Layouts

We zone your kitchen cleverly so that the distance and the number of times you have to move while cooking is greatly reduced. For instance, your refrigerator/ freezer would be placed next to your main counter tops so you can retrieve all you need, use them and put them back in one stride.

Ergonomics and safety are the two most important factors that our design team prioritizes. After all, fires are more likely to start in the kitchen than any other room in your house. Depending on your circumstances, we can make your kitchen baby proof and design it in a way that exiting during a fire is easy.

The designs and layout of your cooking space largely impacts on your comfort and it’s functionality. We want to bring your dream kitchen to life, while keeping these aspects in consideration. Visit our showrooms and offices today. Our office is located on 120 Long Street in Smithfield, New South Wales Australia.

Because the electrician needed to do more than expected, we had to deposit the new kitchen in our living room...
