Returning from Waterperry Gardens (Wheatley, Oxfordshire) we dropped off at the new development at Hilda Wharf, Aylesbury. To the right of my Uncle and Aunt, is a stream inhabited by various ducks and swans ... we had some surplus bread with us which was welcomed by the birds. Now, of course, we are told we shouldn't feed old bread to the ducks and swans!
With all the old pontoons removed and the rotten wooden posts lifted, work is now in progress installing the new metal posts. The smart new pontoons running round the edge of the northern part of the basin will accommodate visiting vessels.
These should constantly change so enhancing the changing scene in our waters.
The general opinion seems to be that the Waterfront looks more pleasant with this open water. There is, however, more of this project to be completed.
While still on site looking for interesting scenese, I came across this rusted Folger's coffee can sitting on a fallen wall. The sunlight was fading in and out through the tree limbs and once I saw the golden hue from inside the can, I captured the scene that was soon to be gone.

Horrible - the destruction of more of our beautiful nature for what?....Ugly piecemeal, same of a kind gated communities which lock us out and yet our taxes pay for their needs - fire police...more more this is happening. Be aware..

Nicely patterned paving for this important area. Seats pleasing, although vulnerable and the chains a good idea, but do collect rubbish.
