A super short 11 car #398 approaches New Berlin behind Horsehead B32-8 546.
I don't know what shocked me more, the Baby Dash 8 or the shortest #398 train that I have ever seen.

This build took about a month with numerous revisions, stickers are all from official Lego sets. The fishing line to keep it in the air for the photo was unavoidable so I hope you all can ignore it.

A 33-hour old dead #120 catches some prime time glint as it moulders away in the Pass at Bates.
Trouble is starting to brew once again at Norfolk Southern. This train sat for 52 hours before it was finally bear crewed into Decatur on Sunday afternoon. Premium trains are running way off schedule and holding out of Decatur to wait for an outbound crew to get rested. Appears to be a rinse and repeat of the trouble that was seen back in 2021 due to lack of crews and motive power.

What we have here just east of Calhoun Road on the UP Waukesha Sub is a Classic Thermal Misalignment. The derail on the left (north) rail is not to protect the TMA, but to protect the end of the inservice trackage. At the very left, you can see the back of the red flag, temporarily moved out of the guage while UP engineering works on Tie replacement and surfacing the line.

After being alterted to a 4-train eastbound parade heading towards Springfield, I followed the D31 local west to see the show. Unfortunately, the sky clouded up shortly afterwards but I was able to grab this shot of 256 at New Berlin before the sun disappeared.

A standard cab Dash 9 leads a short #255 Roadrailer west thru New Berlin. With two big motors and a short train, #255 was doing every bit of 60 MPH as it tore past me here at the Waverly Road crossing.
