Cascade Falls Regional Park is a 22 hectare park located just northeast of Mission, in the Hatzic area. The park's main attraction is Cascade Falls, which drops an impressive 30 metres into a large emerald pool. From here, Cascade Creek runs into a series of smaller falls within a deeply incised gorge as it drops an additional 18 metres before emptying into the tranquil lower pools.

One of my favorite dives ever was in Fiji. We did two dives, one of which was a combination wreck dive and shark feed. They really did it well with the shark feed. To keep the sharks from associating divers with food, we jumped in the water first and spent about ten minutes getting to the site where the boat lowered an industrial size garbage can filled with a bait ball. Once it was at the bottom of the ocean, they pulled a lever system that would turn the garbage can upside down, simultaneously opening the lid, and the bait ball would fall out while the can got lifted back to the boat. The sharks and fish swarmed in for a free lunch. After the feed, we could go out and examine the sand for shark teeth which are often lost when they bite into something. I was proud to find two teeth, both belonging to Bull Sharks. As I searched, the sharks still circled the area, but basically left us alone...except for this guy.
He, a Bull Shark, mind you, the second most dangerous shark in the water only surpassed by a Great White, was swimming past me at an angle when he suddenly turned and headed straight for me. My GoPro rolling the whole time, I remember my dive instructor telling me months ago, before he was diagnosed with brain cancer, that most of these sharks haven't seen a bubble in their lives. I took my regulator out of my mouth and purged it right in front of the shark, causing air to be released from the regulator at the push of a button. The shark then turned away and swam off, the turning away part is pictured here. There are two kinds of divers: people who piss in their wetsuits and people who lie about pissing in their wetsuits. I'm the former. :P
When I returned to New York, my dive instructor who was also a dear friend of mine had been hospitalized. He had surgery, and lost some of his eyesight. I showed him the GoPro video, told him the story, and he smiled at me and said, "Atta girl, Shark Bait," his nickname for me. He passed away a few months later after a second surgery he never recovered from. At his wake, I slipped one of the two Bull Shark teeth I found on that dive up his tux sleeve. His name was Glenn, and he will always be one of my favorite people I've ever met. © 2012-Current.

Discovered this towering cliff during my waterfall chase and I couldn't help but to stop and take a picture. All I could hear was the sound of crackling, melting ice. This was the loudest I have ever heard ice make noise before and I was completely fascinated with the ice formation 😊
