My name's Ryan Bigg and I work on the web.
I begun my web "career" by making sites on freewebs. I learned PHP whilst still at school and on my own time, and a couple of years ago started WSI (Whatpulse Signature Images) with somebody who I met on the WhatPulse Forums after the original service went down, currently it has 11,500+ users. Adam put a lot of time and energy into the site and now it basically maintains itself.
Whilst still coding PHP I did job tracking systems for Ridgehaven Joinery and JustComputing. All of this whilst working for Coles as a shelf stacker / Checkout Whore / Fresh Produce Minion.
A couple of years ago whilst still doing PHP work a friend of mine Ralxz introduced me to Ruby on Rails. Ever since then it's been a love affair (between me and Rails), fueled by a thirst for knowledge. Sometime between then and now, I helped Ralxz with a site called Studyfeed which is a way for students/teachers to share notes on a particular subject. I was responsible for converting the layout from a PSD template into an actual layout, and I helped Ralxz code some parts of the site.
In June of 2007 I begun doing work for SeaLink, the state's biggest (and best!) ferry company. This all begun when I went to the Adelaide Ruby Users Group meeting and I told them I was currently working at Coles, I was offered 3 jobs: SeaLink, NetFox and Freerange Future. I chose SeaLink. It was a great 8 months working for them in a team of 5 people to create a new ferry booking system for them and their clients. Shortly before I left, we deployed to Sea Stradbroke, a Queensland company who runs the ferries from the mainland to both Stradbroke islands.
Between SeaLink and my current job I did a bit of freelancing. In this time I managed to re-implement JustComputing's job tracking system in Ruby on Rails, and worked on SA Window Cleaning's job tracking system too (sensing a pattern?). Unfortunately SA Window Cleaning never got back to me and no longer seems interested, so I guess that's life. During that time Daniel Draper from NetFox was interested again in hiring me and ultimately I took up the job on May 12th. NetFox is an "internet content management and billing solution for schools and businesses", in short it stops your workers/students going places where they shouldn't. My first task was a re-implementation of netfox.com which had to be completed before CeBiT, and was. Currently I'm working on projects for South Australian Career Consultants and SmallPrint (no, they are not job tracking systems!). It's exciting times because we recently got a new client, pinksofa.com which currently has over 100,000 members and is written in ASP.net.

To add more value to its S40 feature phones, Nokia has now added one of its popular social networking applications called Foursquare.
The application keeps track of the user's location using GPS or AGPS, and shares data with his friends.
Users get badges and earn points by checking into places, so if a user goes to his college more often than his friends, then that user will be tagged as the king of college and will be awarded a badge by the application.

Applications of FTTH service
FTTH is a comprehensive access solution for all services. Although the main driving force of FTTH is broadband video services in the future, FTTH must be able to support a variety of existing narrowband and broadband services, as well as possible new services in the future. FTTH system must be able to provide integrated access, so that users can enjoy multiple services at the same time.
PON technology, especially EPON, is widely used in the access network. It promotes the simplification of the network level, makes the network structure clear, management and maintenance more convenient, and greatly reduces the cost of computer room, electricity, and maintenance. The current access network construction is widely implemented by EPON, and common networking methods include FTTB+LAN, FTTB+EOC, and even FTTH.
In the past, EPON devices were mostly independent box-type devices with low port density, low capacity, and simple business functions. Now, operators mostly adopt integrated equipment that combines EPON and Layer 3 switches, especially the integration of large-capacity, multi-function switches. EPON is inserted into the chassis of the switch as a plug-in card (multiple EPON modules can be inserted), so that the OLT part of EPON and the aggregation layer switch are integrated, which further simplifies the network structure.
Another advantage of this is to make business processing more flexible and convenient, such as flexible QinQ technology, VLAN three-layer termination, and even MPLS VPN services. At present, the integrated equipment with the highest business performance can provide 160 PON ports, which fully meets the operators’ high-bandwidth and large-capacity access requirements.
