A rose leaf was eaten by tiny caterpillars. Only the network of veins remained. I back-lit a portion of the leaf and took a macro shot. Well, I have no macro lens but tried my best. No crop. Usually, I don't crop photos. Hope you will like it.

Close-up of a small spider painstakingly repairing it's wind-damaged web on a bush in my garden. I had many failed shots as I was using a slow shutter speed and the spider would not stop moving it's tiny "hands" as it feverishly repaired it's web.

Randstad Rail E-line terminus

A few weeks ago the new terminus of the Randstad Rail E-line was opened after 2 years of building. The station is build above The Hague Central Station and is designed by Zwarts & Jansma Architects.
We have had so very little bright light or blue skies lately. I go out to take pictures and come back uninspired but feeling fresh. This is an image I took last week when sunlight was peeking through the bush where we were hiking. Usually I am looking for distinct patterns in the trees for my composition. However, this time I was drawn to the network of branches and how tightly they were integrated with each other. Often we see forests with trees replanted in rows. This is about as untamed as you can get with a forest. And the light was just enough to make it interesting. On the dull days, I am glad for my network of connections who share their images and keep me inspired for the next photo opportunity.

okay, actually, it's high tech how spiders make their networks, but they do not need any tools, no internet, no Apps.
Two Remodelado's on the iconic Route 28 exit the narrowest section of the route in Alfama, Lisbon, Portugal. Route 28 is one of the most famous tram routes in the world taking in the twisty turny and very hilly single lane streets of the famous Alfama neighbourhood. Some sections of this part of the route are so narrow pedestrians have to seek shelter in doorways and you can knock on peoples doors as you go past in a tram!
Having got back from Belem we still had most of the afternoon free so we went for a ride on one of the red tour guided trams, complete with onboard commentary. This shot was taken from our tram while waiting at the traffic lights that govern this single line stretch as these two 28s made their way back onto the double line section. Being the most popular route on the Lisbon Tram network, 28s often travel in pairs to cater for the sheer amount of tourists that use the route. Unless you get to the starting point early, expect a long queue and a long wait before you can get on one.
