১৯৩০ সালে আইন অমান্য আন্দোলনে অংশগ্রহণ করে প্রায় এক বছর কারাবরণ করেন তারাশঙ্কর বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় । জেলে বসেই তিনি ঠিক করেন, প্রত্যক্ষ রাজনীতি নয়, বরং সাহিত্য-সরস্বতীর সাধনার দ্বারাই তিনি দেশসেবা করবেন। জাগিয়ে তুলবেন দেশের মানুষের বিবেকবোধ ও চেতনাকে। এমনকী তাঁর প্রথম উপন্যাস 'চৈতালী ঘূর্ণি' তিনি লিখেছিলেন কারান্তরালে থাকাককালীনই। তিনিই প্রথম বাঙালি সাহিত্যিক যিনি জ্ঞানপীঠ পুরস্কার পেয়েছিলেন । নেতাজি সুভাষচন্দ্র বসুকে অসম্ভব শ্রদ্ধা করতেন তারাশঙ্কর বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় । তাঁকে স্মরণ করেই এই লেখাটি লিখেছিলেন তারাশঙ্কর বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়.....
