NOSTALGIA

The original photo (which can be viewed in the first comment box below) was first edited with two different filters selected from Dreamscope. Then I combined the 2 layers with the original using adobe PhotoMix and final touch-ups were down in iPiccy on my desktop.

BiG THANKS to EVERYONE for your personal comments and also your support from selected groups.

Notice the red flags with the crescent and three stars

Again, one of the days when my camera was not with me. We are somewhere in Çatalca, which is the coast of Istanbul to the Black Sea. We sit with us, with something to eat, tea and coffee, and our folding table chair set. Despite the beauty of the weather, there are not many people here. We listened to the sound of the waves and buried our feet in sand. There are more beautiful things than this, maybe in life, but I think this is one of the best.

There are people here who make a living by fishing. Someone has spread the fishing nets in the sand, maintenance will be done. When I found a composition that I liked, I wanted to share it with you. Enjoy it.

Deze plek is momenteel een kale vlakte- een nieuwe woonwijk moet hier verrijzen, waar de Museumtram een onderdeel van zal uitmaken. Maar dat zal nog enige jaren in beslag nemen....

I have no idea how this is used, but it was among the working stuff on a trawler in Newburyport.

Fishing net in Crail, in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland

This was a curse. I recognised it to be the first net casting spider I'd ever seen (no prizes for this), but I'd forgotten at the time about their huge pair of eyes so I didn't try to take any photos. I went back (a week) later to see if I could find it, but no luck. Another time.

Net Huts in Hastings Harbour (dating from the 16th Century). Originally used to house nets for catching mackerel and herring.
