Danny Elfman - Wonka's Welcome Song
Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka... The amazing chocolatier.
Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka... Everybody give a cheer!
He's modest, clever, and so smart, he barely can restrain it.
With so much generosity, there is no way to contain it...
To contain it... To contain... To contain... To contain...
Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka... He's the one that you're about to
meet,
Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka... He's a genius who just can't be
beat,
The magician and the chocolate wiz...
He's the best darn guy who ever lived,
Willy Wonka here he is...
The young woman on the left is a paragon of thoughtfulness and politeness.
Actually, so is the young woman on the right, but I'm specifically thinking of how nice it was that when the former introduced herself and said that I'd taken her picture last year, she let me ruminate in silence for a few seconds before I got it.
"Yes! The incredibly cool lathe! That's one of my all-time favorite pictures!"
Interestingly (well, to me, anyway) that photo was taken during my first couple of weeks with the D80. It was one of the first photos that made me think that (damn!) this is a great, fun camera.
We had a nice little chat and then I was distracted by the large padded envelope they were carrying. When she showed me her prize, I involuntarily invoked the name of the deity.
"Unpopulated glass circuit boards," she said, proudly. Each was about 20" on a side, and there were four of them. "I'm going to turn them into tables."
"How much were they?"
(Always a dangerous question.)
"Three bucks for the whole package."
(See?)
"I now like you a whole lot less than I did four minutes ago," I said.
What a prize! I would have spent three months just figuring out the perfect way to use them. Already I'm thinking that I'd make an oak table with a glass top, and would mount the boards so that they appeared to "float" underneath them.
My entry for round 5 in the Dolly Re:Mix contest. :)
Round 5 theme was: Nerds! XD
So Summer reveals her secret, that she's not only playing World of Warcraft for many years now but also loves to cosplay. She's not good in sewing or crafting, but she try hard. :D
So here she is, cosplaying a Warcraft Bloodelf mage! ^^

To celebrate the launch of my new site a week ago, I decided to get myself a little reward. The description for this Nerd Merit Badge is:
"We wanted to release a “shipped the product” badge. The badge would recognize the accomplishment of conceptualizing a new product, a new website, a new anything, then going ahead and MAKING that thing and sending it out into the world. Finishing it, completing it. Taking it all the way from idea, through excecution, to launch."
Yay me.
Well I finally had a chance to meet up with Tommy (yes we are on a first name basis now) and give him the Nerdly MOC I made for his Nerdvember contest last year.
It was great meeting #thebricknerd himself!
I am a spelling nerd, I couldn't let QANTAS's use of 'wether' on their e-tickets go without feedback.
Feedback reads:
"Hello, on page two of your e-ticket, under the 'Sharp objects' heading, the word 'wether' appears. A wether is old english for castrated ram, which I am confident is not sharp. You may have meant whether...
Looking forward to seeing what the spotters prize is for this. :)"
UPDATE: QANTAS got back to me. They emailed today to say;
"Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. I have raised this issue with our contact centre management to have this issue investigated immediately."

9" and 6" lemon cake with strawberry cream. My client sent me this cake necessarynerdom.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/1272227202... and asked for a two tiers version. I don't know who is the original designer for credit. I added a fondant calculator.

Visually, the modern nerd is highly distinctive and is easily recognized by its IRC handle. The modern nerd, particularly of the male variety, is one of the most widely recognized internet personalities in human culture.
Throughout history, depictions of nerds have existed from the Upper Paleolithic period, with carvings and paintings from the Lascaux and Chauvet Caves, through virtually all ancient and medieval cultures where they historically occurred. The nerd has been extensively depicted in literature, in sculptures, paintings, books, in contemporary film and, most importantly, on the internet.
The modern nerd finds him or herself most at ease in a programming development environment. In his or her communication efforts, though, an IRC chat room gives him or her comfort, inspiration, and a sense of community.
