Domburg is a seaside resort on the North Sea, on the northwest coast of Walcheren in the Dutch province of Zeeland.

The area of Domburg has been inhabited since ancient times. In 1647 after heavy storms on the beach of Domburg a sanctuary was discovered with around 40 stones with Latin inscriptions and carvings of several gods, among them of Neptune (sea) and Mercury (trade), but the majority of a local female deity: Nehalennia who appears to have protected both trade and shipping.

Domburg is perhaps best known for its hosting of a group of artists of which Piet Mondraan or Mondrian is the best known. His Pier and Ocean painting was inspired by the same location where James Abbott McNeill Whistler painted the Domburg sea with its characteristic piers which do not cater for the happy crowd but are meant to break waves that may damage the dunes and thus the existence of the place.

Do not mess with me,

I’ll take you down,

It is the fairy born from the energy emanating from the Neptune

The fairies dance and dance in the Neptune's raging environment

However, we can not observe them due to the strong gravity and energy of the Neptune

The statue of Neptune was given to the city of Durham in 1729 by George Bowes of Gibside and Streatlam. The statue symbolised aspirations at that time to improve the navigation of the River Wear and Durham's link to the sea. The statue originally stood in the Market Place, on top of a large stone pant, which supplied water, piped from Fram Well. The statue was relocated to Wharton Park in 1923 after the pant/water fountain, was no longer needed. The statue was returned to the Market Pace in 1986, following an appeal by the City of Durham Trust. The statue is Grade II listed.

Neptune's Staircase, Banavie, Scotland.

--

Built by Thomas Telford between 1803 and 1822, Neptune’s Staircase at Banavie, near Fort William just north of Loch Linnhe, is kept by Scottish Canals. It is the longest staircase lock in Britain, lifting boats 64 feet (20 m). It consists of eight locks, each 180 feet (55 m) by 40 feet (12 m), and it takes boats about 90 minutes to pass through the system.

Taken as Winter Storm Neptune was moving out, and high winds were moving in. The weather in Boston has been insane this winter.

Shot with my iPhone as that's all I had on me - it was like shooting into oblivion, or walking into a giant snowblower haha.

Unfortunately we cannot reveal beautiful features, as in Jupiter, because Neptune is much more distant from us, but it is worth the record. At the time of capture (carried out on a date contiguous to that of its opposition), Neptune (the last planet in the solar system from the Sun) was about 4.33 billion kilometers away from Earth.

Fountain of Neptune, Bologna, Italy

In the Piazza della Signoria in Florence. Made of marble and bronze, the fountain was commissioned in 1565 and designed by Baccio Bandinelli after a competition sponsored by Cosimo I de' Medici. As seen today, the statue is a restoration from about 2018 following various acts of vandalism.

Like Poseidon, his Greek counterpart, Neptune was worshipped by the Romans also as a god of horses, under the name Neptunus Equester, a patron of horse-racing.

Captured a while ago at Moffat Heads on the Sunshine Coast.

In the past my editing of photos was usually a quick 5 minute job, mostly because I am extremely colour blind (making it really easy to mess things up) and partly because I was impatient.

As with most things there is benefit to slowing down and taking a more considered approach, and I am happy to say I think it is making a difference in the work that I have recently produced.

This image has been a month in the making - a far departure from the past approach. Contributing to this has been lots of learning in how to better use Lightroom and Photoshop, with the little things often having the most impact. It is worth mentioning that you can learn a lot from printing images and not just looking at them on a screen.

00d 06' 14" separation between Mars and Neptune

These are two images of Neptune taken in the early evening of 19 November. On the left a LRGB video sequence of the best 40% of frames at 15fps for luminance and 12fps for Red, Green and Blue and on the right a stack of 400 luminance subframes at 5 seconds per frame converted from video to still images and stacked to enable the much fainter Triton to be picked up in the imaging. It has also blown out the size of Neptune in consequence although both images were taken at the same magnification.

Neptune is a tricky target at the best of times for close-up imaging. For a variety of reasons from technical equipment issues to weather conditions this is the first time I've successfully managed to pin down a reasonable image of Neptune and Triton in 2017.
