✍️ Artist Statement:
In The Clock Mother’s Lament, time is not a measurement — it is a mouth. The portrait is an invocation of feminine eternity twisted by grief, mechanized by ritual, and locked in an endless cycle of hunger and warning. The gothic timepiece becomes a stage for psychological exile the child in red below stands as witness, or perhaps sacrifice, to the devouring past.
The piece interrogates the liminal space between childhood and nightmare, memory and prophecy. Inspired by early fairy tales, mourning rituals, and my own reflections on gendered mythologies, The Clock Mother’s Lament is both a shrine and a siren, echoing loss through frozen time.
This work belongs to my “Spectral Automatons” series, where timekeeping devices, feminine archetypes, and dream logic converge into quiet terror.

Artist Statement:
This is not a portrait. This is a memory.
The Flood Remembered His Face imagines a world where the divine has been abandoned, but nature — water, stone, time — still remembers the shape of power. The architecture is ancient, rotting, half-submerged. And yet, the face emerges: sharp, unweathered, looking back not at the viewer, but at the space itself — as if to say, I built this… or destroyed it.
The piece is about legacy, ego, and the ghosts of masculinity that linger in fallen empires. It’s part myth, part mirror, part warning.
I didn’t want the viewer to feel comfort. I wanted them to feel watched.

Description:
Fierce yet fluid, this portrait captures a moment where fashion becomes mythology. Liza Nay Pontoni’s design—styled by House of MODA—evokes the spirit of armor with architectural precision and sculptural grace.
The silhouette commands. Sharp lines and cinched structure recall the resilience of ancient warriors, while the soft shine of fabric nods to movement and adaptability. Every element is intentional: from the bold stance to the protective curvature of the neckline.
This is not simply an outfit; it’s an embodiment of strength made visible. “Gladiator Girl” turns elegance into defense, styling into story. A visual tribute to those who fight with poise and presence.

Sometimes the quietest ones leave the heaviest mark.
In this piece, I wanted to explore how stillness can be more menacing than motion. The Lamb’s expression is blank, unreadable but beneath the silence is something unresolved. Something patient.
This was never about the violence. It was always about what happens next.

In Friend Request (Wet Eden), I construct a devotional moment between the synthetic and the feral. The central figure, nude and newly emerged, clings to a device inscribed with the word “FRIEND,” but the question lingers: is this a plea, a designation, or an ironic brand? The surrounding creatures slick, unblinking, and strangely tender act as witnesses or gods or algorithms. Their intimacy is unsettling. Their closeness is love or surveillance, maybe both.
This piece belongs to the #10000HourProject and continues my visual exploration of what it means to be seen, consumed, and “liked” in ecosystems both digital and mythic. The liquid is not just water; it’s data, amniotic memory, and screen glare. I want viewers to question who the real predator is what watches, what we invite into our orbit, and what we mistake for affection.

#RhondaMelo embodies digital mythology in this latest generative work as #Melora, where the sensual becomes synthetic and the grotesque becomes devotional. Friend Request (Wet Eden) joins the #10000HourProject as a visual artifact of intimacy, surveillance, and semi-sentient connection.

Some places are not meant to be reached only crossed.
“The Threshold Knows No Saints” is a meditation on liminal spaces: those blackened corridors between what was survived and what is still unknown. Here, the figure steps not into light, but into ambiguity. The red fragments shrouds, spirits, past selves drift upward, caught between release and return.
This piece does not promise transformation. It offers only motion. I wanted the viewer to feel that quiet unease that happens right after the storm breaks—when it’s unclear whether it’s over, or only just begun.
The terrain is not earth. It is memory. And memory has no saints.
