Hi everyone! Lego Ideas is hosting a contest to build something inspired by one of the many space themes. Obviously, I had to choose Classic Space! I’ll post more pictures soon, but this the ultimate CS vehicle, sporting several play features, and being to store a scooter, rover, spacecraft, research lab, and more. Hope you like it!

For those curious, it's about 2.25 feet long, and weighs a ton! I'd estimate it clocking in at around 3,000 bricks.

This one is for you Pete!

Happy Febrovery, everyone! This is my take on the wonderfully busy 1984 set, 6928 Uranium Search Vehicle.

I focused on the play features here, as opposed to realism, and so it boasts: four poseable front radar dishes, a modular cockpit, a modular mini-lab in the back, articulated center gear for all terrains, and poseable satellite dishes, too. Hope you enjoy!

Hi everyone! Sorry I'm a little late for Shiptember, but here is my take on the 1985 set of the same name, the Xenon X-Craft. This was my first model using the new canopy piece, and I have to say, it's a great addition to anyone's Neo Classic Space part inventory!

This updated take of 6872 features retractable landing gear, and gear-operated folding wings.

Hope you like it!

Just your regular, run-of-the-mill NCS battle mecha. I don't often use brick shooters in my designs since my son stopped being obsessed with the things, but I still enjoy the looks of the old rotary stud shooters, especially in mechs.

The venerable LL-928 Galaxy Explorer class of spaceships, known throughout the Federation as the workhorses of the fleet. For over 40 years now Galaxy Explorers have traveled to distant stars, explored strange new worlds and have been the backbone of deep space exploration.

While not as sleek or technologically advanced as some modern crafts, the LL-928 series was built to last and has a legacy to prove it. This is in no small part due to the rigorous and thorough maintenance schedule the ships go through.

Within Arcturus Outpost’s hanger bay (home to Nova Team) Commander Hank Hawkins along with first mate, Janice Jenson go over the maintenance schedule for the outpost’s LL-928 nicknamed “Ole Lady” while crews bustle around the legendary ship.

I took part in New Elementary's Space Tools parts fest, so I thought I'd upload some of the photos I used for the article.

Hi everyone! To celebrate Febrovery, I decided to revamp the 1988 Futuron set 6925, Interplanetary Rover. Hope you like it!

I never posted this when I initially finished it, but no time like the present! This is my take on the 1982 Mobile Rocket Transport, set 6950. Enjoy!

Well, it's NnoVVember again, and that means Vic Vipers.

For once I felt the urge to participate in this monthly challenge; I've built ships with the set of characteristics that define a Vic Viper, but I wouldn't call myself a specialist in them and I seldom feel the urge to build something with those particular constraints during the month of November.

LL731 is pretty conventional as Vic Vipers go: two forward prongs, two rear wings, single vertical tail fin. And it's Classic Space because of course it is.

Based on a design concept by Miguel Reizinho, and as seen at the fantastic Parades De Coura Lego fan weekend in Portugal last month.

"Go anywhere, do anything in a L4-P1N AllTrak 'Thumper' " said the marketing spiel.

They weren't lying!

Here's their first one - a shakedown evaluation mule being escorted back to the base testing grounds.

Another resurrection from an older table scrap—this time the tracks. We all like Built Wheels in Febrov, so why not Built Treads™️?

Build into the small hours, and remember to have fun!

Hi everyone! I’m not big on reposting older creations, but thought you might enjoy seeing my iterations of the Galaxy Explorer, Space Cruiser, and Space Transport all in one place at the same time. It kind of looks like a family portrait. Enjoy!

Hi everyone! Please enjoy my take on the 1981 set 6927 All-Terrain Vehicle. This updated take features functioning steering and suspension, while still having the iconic detachable mobile lab. Hope you like it!

Sven and the gang are at it again! This time they are about to test the new transport on Epsilon IV. Given their stamina and durability, space-goats make for excellent test-subjects when it comes to these types of experiments and Sven is, as always, happy to lend a helping hand.

Here are some more views of my Omni Terrain Juggernaut, and the smaller vehicles and mecha that accompany this beast. Enjoy!

Greetings to every human and non-human being out there!

This MOC was supposed to be finished for Febrovery 2017, but, unfortunately my life took unexpected twists and turns.. making me think that I will never return to LEGO anymore. Though I didn't give up on the idea and concept of this rover, so today I finally proud to present it to you!

_______________________________________________

The name of the bird and its qualities made the acronym for the rover - "S.W.I.F.T.", which here stands for "SpaceWay Incredibly Fast Transport".

This vehicle was created for the explorers on long hauls after the great discoveries of new planets. The new generation of chassis together with durable wheels and comfortable cockpit moved the travelling experience on another level for the astronauts.

We break-in from your regularly scheduled "Nova Team" photo with something VERY exciting and a VERY long time coming. I've had the absolute thrill, honor and pleasure to work with some LEGO Space community "Titans" from across the pond in the form of Tim Goddard, Peter Reid, Alec Hole and Chris Salt on a really fun and exciting project called I.C.E. Titan. It’s an official prequel story for the I.C.E Team made popular in Tim and Pete's wonderful book called "LEGO Space: Building the Future" If you haven't read it, it’s a must! What's even better? The Brothers Brick has been kind enough to exclusively feature and host our story complete with behind the scenes interviews and a PDF you can download and read. Check it now only at: The Brothers Brick. I hope you guys enjoy reading it as much as we had making it!

FebRovery is upon us, finally!

More pictures from the show to follow!

Thanks to Pete Reid and Tim Goddard for inspiring me to build space models again– I will take this opportunity to recommend their excellent book 'Lego Space: Building the Future'

I've written a blog post with further details about the Neo FX Star Patroller.

As the team on Epsilon IV explore more of the surface, they come across a thermal hotspot in one of the marshes. The ancient bridge is clear evidence that the planet was previously inhabited by an intelligent species...

So I was tearing down an old build and decided to remake it in more of a sci-fi theme. Of course had to build a new bridge :) Only had one flextube so I tried a new technique which I think works rather well. Thanks for having a look!

Sometimes the best things come in small packages. This little fighter does not have exceptionally big guns or heavy armor, but what it lacks in armaments it makes up in speed and agility. It is tiny, lightweight, and packs enough thrust to flatten the pilot against the uncomfortably small seat.

I built this in less than 24 hours, after a weekend trying to work on my big project but not making much progress. So here's a little distraction while I recharge my creative juices.

An orbital hangar containing four bays for small shuttles such as the ever-popular LL-290.

This hangar was first displayed at the Brickish weekend at the National Space Centre, 10-11 May 2014. Robots courtesy of Peter Reid (Legoloverman).

Seen at NSC show, today

Parking space is limited on this section of the table as I ended up finishing more models than expected for the show.

I'm a big fan of vertically-oriented ships, and this one I'm particularly pleased with how it turned out, especially with the semi-retractable landing gear.

Somehow the shape puts me in mind of a fish of some kind, and being a fan also of prehistoric life (even if I don't build it all that much) I'm calling this the LL313 Coelacanth

As a now trusted member of the crew on Epsilon IV, Sven has been reassigned to the cryochamber. It's one of the more prestigious jobs on the colony and as always, Sven is mighty proud of himself.

Played around with my fog-machine a bit more, figured it would work rather well in a cryochamber. Hope you like it!

Hi everyone! Inspired by the January GWP, I decided to take a crack at a revamped version of the Blacktron Alienator. Enjoy!

Galaxy Explorer Class craft on landing pad, Panduro base.

More photos from the 2016 Brickish Association display at the National Space Centre on the way.

There is nothing like exploring the surface of a previously undiscovered alien planet! Especially when cruising along at not recommended unsafe velocities in one of the Federation's fastest rovers, the Runabout All-Terrain Sport Rover.

Well, that’s at least how Captain Knight feels about it anyway! His copilot on this mission, Commander Sydney Stargazer, hopes her captain doesn't wear out the new rover's accelerator. As it seems to her, he's forgotten where the brake is, or is choosing not to use it. She hasn't decided which one she believes yet.

BTS: The reports of my assimilation have been greatly exaggerated! Man it has been a long time since I've post anything! And even longer for something Nova Team related! The last time, I promised I wouldn't be away for very long and well, life got in the way. Work, family, stuff like that and on top of it, I lost my LEGO creativity. I am truly sorry for that. Sure, I've some done work for Blocks Magazine on and off (actually got some stuff to show you, and something new coming out in a future issue) but I lost the drive to build much, come up with new Nova Team adventures and take pictures.

However, its February, or better known as Febrovery! Over the last few weeks I've been scrolling through Flickr enjoying everyone's wonderful rovers and I felt the itch, the unmistakable LEGO itch! I've been siting on 3 little rover builds for a year or so and never gave them the "Nova Team treatment". So, as 11th hour Febrovery entries I'll be posting photos of these rovers over the next few days. I can't wait for your comments!

I'd love to say I'll be able to post a lot from now on. But after these rovers, some Blocks stuff and maybe a few throw backs from old projects never seen here before, that'll be it for a bit. We're about to make big family move, and work is crazier than ever. But with some luck and a lot of hard work, later this year I hope it'll be easier for me to get back into this hobby that I love, start building again and more importantly, have new Nova Team adventures! Thanks always for the comments and support. I've always apricated them.

Sven is looking on as the highly trained bee-keepers on Epsilon IV go about harvesting the honey. It's a dangerous job, but an important one.

It's FebRovery again, my favourite themed building month.

So let's begin with a modification of set 10497 (or as I like to call it, the "UCS Galaxy Explorer") into a rover.

As far as names go, "Planetary Explorer" was the obvious and only choice. The rear cargo compartment contains a small skimmer-type vehicle to mirror the rover carried by the original

When the ideas tank is empty there's always Classic Space to doodle with.

Archer Squadron pilots (from left to right) Trace, Ladama, Williams and Skyhawk inside Arcturus Base's hanger bay going over the plan for the next patrol run around the Arcturus star system.

So this is a shot that’s been lingering in my Lightroom library from last year and I figured I'd share it with all of you. I know it's been a while since I've posted anything spacey or Nova Team related and I'm really sorry about that - I miss them too!! I've just been so busy with so many things lately, real life stuff and LEGO things - some of which you've seen in the form of the work I've done for Blocks Magazine and other things that have yet to come out yet. However, behind the scenes I have a bunch of new things in the works for new adventures! In the meantime enjoy!

For those who are interested, unfortunately I am unable to sell the Nova Team minifigures or designs due to the use of the "Classic Space" logo which is owned and trademarked by The LEGO Group. My custom designed figures and use of the official "Classic Space" logo is for personal use only in my MOCs and photography. By the same token, I will not give away the design files and source material either. Thank you for understanding! Trust me, if I could legally sell these, I would.
