One can only imagine , but fear not this was a bright ( if cold ) sunny day and negative blue sky comes out like this . The silver birch is still silver birch - just the other way round .

Recently scanned negative taken c1973 with a Praktica Nova camera.

An overpass at dusk in Los Angeles

This setup is the reason that I first decided to buy a mirrorless camera. When I learned that I could buy adapters to mount my old Canon FD lenses to a modern digital camera I was sold. One of the first things I did with that camera ( Sony A7 ) was mount it to this bellows set and digitize some old slides. More often now I am digging up old black and white negatives in order to make copies. The trick to using this setup is to use the focus magnifier to focus on the film grain as opposed to any feature of the image.

negative space of negative space.

This photo was scanned in with my Nikon D3000 with 18-55mm kit lens using my scanners light source for negatives. After experimenting for ages I have finally been able to get decent colour from my negatives if I had a macro lens the image would also be a lot sharper but ill keep going Pretty good for an entry level DSLR.

Just messing with the phone on a hot day, you never know when an image will present itself.

Looks as if I might have to wait a bit longer on these imperfect results, but ... maybe I should take these as a lesson for the future , hmmm. Not sure.

You might see some more in this vein or it might become a blind avenue.

I was idly browsing Iple when I realised that the JID boys were very similar in measurement to Darcy's odd size so I ordered a set to test and... IT FITS PERFECTLY!!!

The (very short) List of Clothes That Fit:

SD girl clothes

SD boy clothes (slightly loose around waist)

JID boys

Some MSD shoes -- didn't fit Miu's Bluefairy boots, but this pair of rRabbit boots are perfect. needs more investigation.

I got rid of my 3 Soom tinies because collecting for yet another size when I already had SD/MSD was annoying, so I'm glad that Volks made the Midi-Williams head huge enough that I could grow him by almost 30cm. >:D I also bought the cap that goes with the outfit but... his head doesn't fit in it despite JIDs also having a 7-8inch head??? Maybe it's all the hair?

Darcy and Miu are both cats, sleepy-chan is a dormouse. (◍•ᴗ•◍)

In the attic I came across negatives from the latter half of the 1960s when I was a teenager. On the lightbox I was both appalled by their physical quality and intrigued as to what they contained; therefore, I decided to have a closer look. I propose to post an edited selection over the coming days.

Really enjoyed doing another negative colour scheme on this one

Saturday Self Challenge .19/01/2019 -- inverted or negative images .

Well first of all panic set in with this one and I did not have this facility on the computer ( still don't ) as I do not have Photoshop or the like , only basic computer in built programme and a couple of card crafting programmes . However suddenly remembered that a very old point and shoot camera of mine had a creative after shot facility on it . Best of it is this camera only cost the price of a photographic magazine , sent a shot in and won the monthly camera prize !!

So with the camera all charged up again I have been shooting and converting shots all week ( some already on my photostream as main or secondary shots ) .

Here at Bookham churchyard there were quite a few shots to choose from with different colours showing their opposites in negative . I particularly like the black sky from the bland overcast conditions better than the dirty yellow from the later blue skies .

I have included a second view which has inspired this weeks rather macarbe Sight & Sound

Once again I don't know what to do with this unbalanced photo. It's one of those shots that I know is wrong but I still like--the ugly child syndrome. The ray of sunlight captured by the lens that was all wet a moment ago was really attractive to me but the composition is all messed up because of the excessive negative space in the wrong place.

This image meant to be just a black and white one. But, I thought the results could be better if I convert the picture into its negative version
