hoarfrost
Hoar frost is a type of feathery frost that forms as a result of specific climatic conditions. The word 'hoar' comes from old English and refers to the old age appearance of the frost: the way the ice crystals form makes it look like white hair or a beard.

Happy Sliders Sunday!
I used a brightly colored pink and blue fabric as the background for the needle/thread. In post I added some HDR and a Ribbet filter called Panography-ish, then added a drop-shadow frame.

This photo was taken in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park in Utah. This shot was taken from the Chesler Park Loop Trail, and there were impressive needle-like formations throughout the area. I would highly recommend that hike, and it is a very scenic trail -- a 10.4 mile hike total, although I only had time to do 8 miles on the day that I was there.
I don’t know the name of this tree but the leaves are needles very soft on the new growth. I wonder if it is a Larch.

I was fortunate to get a week in Skye before the lockdown and I keep returning to the numerous images I took there. I made the most of the days up there, with predawn starts and sunset shots to look back on. The great thing about going there in November is that there are no midges and the days are shorter making sunrise and sunset so much more sociable. You just need a little luck with the weather and I was fortunate this year.

Hello my Flickr friends!!!
Today is Monday which is a red day at color My World daily Group. The theme for Macro Mondays is: thread and needle.
It is very crazy here in Montreal, right now… Schools are closed for 2 weeks, everybody who can is working from home, people over 70 are asked to stay home and avoid social contacts… Toilet paper situation (I know everyone wants an update on this VERY, VERY important subject) seems to be better… People got their common sense back…We will see what is next. Frankly I was (and I still am) super preoccupied by this COVID19 hysteria and I hope it will get better in the next few days…
I hope you are all healthy and safe !! I wish you an amazing beginning of the week !!!
