The Autoslot 88 machine at Navigation Road on 16th December 2003. These machines were introduced in the 1980s to vend a small range of the most popular tickets for cash. It is similar for the much more widespread PERTIS machine, but slightly larger and incorporating a rotary dial for selecting destinations.
May 05 - - this is a welcome refuelling stop for walkers on the Calder-Hebble Navigation Canal. Rail travellers will not need reminding it is just next to Mirfield station

After the bird takes off - it flew in a 3/4 circle until it settled on this direcction which is about 150 degrees off of the direction it took off at. This bird is there frequently but apparently camera shy and camera wise...
Taken on Friday 22nd October, Navigation Road is both a Metrolink station on the northbound side (where this pic was taken from) and southbound is the Mid-Cheshire Line.

A very nice feature I found, is when you scroll through your points of interests, their location is highlighted on the map.
I am scrolling through Italian restaurants in Manhattan while capturing this picture.

"Dutton Horse Bridge is a timber twin-span footbridge across part of the Weaver navigation, near the villages of Acton Bridge and Dutton in Cheshire, England. The bridge is located at SJ 583 767, between the Dutton Locks and Dutton Viaduct. It carries the towpath across a subsidiary channel used to regulate the water level, at the point where it rejoins the main river.
The bridge dates from 1915–1919 and is by John Arthur Saner. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building; the listing describes it as "an elegant structure in the functional waterways tradition". The bridge is one of the earliest remaining examples of a laminated timber structure, and is also believed to be the sole laminated greenheart timber bridge in the country. "

The Ashton Canal runs from the Rochdale Canal at Ducie Street in Manchester to its junction with the Huddersfield Narrow Canal at Ashton under Lyne, 0.4 miles east of Dukinfield Junction, where the Ashton Canal is joined by the Peak Forest Canal. The Ashton Canal is 6.7 miles long and has 18 locks. The canal has two disused branches (both partly filled in, but proposed for restoration): the Hollinwood Branch - 4.6 miles and 7 locks (which joined at Fairfield Junction), and the Stockport Branch - 4.9 miles and no locks (which joined at Clayton Junction in the middle of the Clayton Lock flight).
