This Ladybird was quite far away so I have had to do a tight crop into the main photo hence it is not as clear as I would like.

Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time.

Seabrook Island, South Carolina

Applewood Hills Greenbelt Trail.

I thought this was some kind of stink bug, but apparently it's a leaf-footed bug with orange antennae. I have never seen these before and was excited to photograph it, as it just sat there and posed for me. Then as we continued our walk, we saw many more. It looks like it has only two legs on the left side, but maybe it was underneath. Didn't notice, until I was editing.

Thanks for views, comments and favs :)

I can't figure out if this is Chinese Privet, or Yaupon Holly. Whichever, it grows profusely in Louisiana woods.

A family's lazy Sunday nature walk

Couldn't have asked for a more perfect day for a walk at the arboretum...An incoming flock of Canada geese agreed...They landed on land across the lake, splatted into the water, swam across, then out they got for their own promenade...

Have a terrific weekend! :-)

Where's a kayak when you need one... :(

You can hear a twig snap for miles...

I felt lucky these Bluebirds posed for a portrait.

Taken on my last nature walk, before it got too cold.

This rose is on the north side of my house and it's in very heavy shade all day in the winter. I wonder if these buds will open.

Cannon Beach, Ecola State Park, Oregon. Even on a cloudy day, the view is spectacular!

Looking more like a stream than a river, the Comite is so low that you can walk on the river bed. It's getting to where we face a drought every summer. I just hope we don't lose any more trees. We lost 3 in our front yard alone, last year.

Well, I went back to Sandy Creek for a closer look at the tiny wildflowers lining the trails, but I made a huge mistake by forgetting to check my batteries. Not quite as bad as not checking to make sure you have a memory card inserted, but almost...

I did get a few shots before my luck ran out.
