Thank God the symptoms of my Covid-19 are on their detour...

During this very panoramic and hilly walk you walk through meadows up to the hamlet of Kosberg. Then you walk through the forest to the hamlet of Landsrade. Then you walk through meadows towards Gulpen and then you arrive in the hamlet of Dal Bissen. The way back goes through meadows to the hamlet of Schweiberg and a nice path takes you back to Epen. This route often runs through meadows with beautiful views of the hills of South Limburg. There are plenty of benches along the way. At the end is a beautiful terrace. You can shorten the route to 7 km.

“Summer is the annual permission slip to be lazy. To do nothing and have it count for something. To lie in the grass and count the stars. To sit on a branch and study the clouds.”- Regina Brett

The Zeeland Bridge (Dutch: Zeelandbrug) is the longest bridge in the Netherlands. The bridge spans the Eastern Scheldt estuary. It connects the islands of Schouwen-Duiveland and Noord-Beveland in the province of Zeeland.

The Zeeland Bridge was built between 1963 and 1965. It was inaugurated on 15 December 1965 by Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, and was originally called Eastern Scheldt Bridge (Dutch: Oosterscheldebrug) before being renamed the Zealand Bridge on 13 April 1967.

At the time of its completion, it was the longest bridge in Europe. It has a total length of 5,022 metres, and consists of 48 spans of 95 metres, 2 spans of 72.5 metres and a movable bridge with a width of 40 metres.

I'm wishing you all a very nice weekend (in advance) ;-)

A lone great egret perched in a tree, two years ago while walking in the park. I know he didn't like my company, as he immediately took flight.

As I celebrate my birthday today, I feel like this bird, alone at home with my family and all of you, so close yet so far away. My son is working, and I was going to the zoo, but I ended up visiting thrift stores because I didn't feel like going to the zoo. Whenever I go at this time, the animals are either sheltering from the sun or sleeping. It's better to visit them in the morning.

A beautiful song for this photo. 🎵

Weary eyes scanning down the road ahead. Rolling hills, twists and turns, no time for sleep but dreams are racing through my mind. The blanket of darkness slowly rolls away from the horizon, revealing the day ahead. The skies were clear only an hour ago, stars twinkling in the night but now as the blackness recedes, a veil of morning fog begins to roll through the valleys I traverse. So many souls call out to be seen along the drive, but I must choose carefully this morn as I have limited mobility and most of these backroads have limited spots to pull over. Still mending from a broken foot, I need to find an easy to get to location with minimal walking involved.

A turn onto a familiar route and then a name on a sign catches my eye. Diana’s Pool, a place I have not been to in quite some time and had intended to visit during the peak of Fall before the injury. Kismet or a subconscious urge, in either case the call has been heard and answered. The trail is slick with fallen leaves, rocky and uneven so I will stick to the shorter one leading to just under the bridge. Now I must wait and contemplate. Watching the mist dance above the waters as the fog continues to roll through the trees. The Sun trying its best to burn away the shroud of white engulfing the Natchaug River. Fighting the urge to follow the mystery of the morning further upstream. Time to move on, just as Autumn has done here.
