KINGS BAY, Ga. (March 10, 2023) - Daniel Ackerson, a physician at Naval Branch Health Clinic Kings Bay’s Family Medicine Clinic, examines a patient. Ackerson holds a doctor of medicine degree from Ohio State University. Healing heels… supporting Navy and Marine Corps personnel for operational readiness and standing on their own two feet is the specialty of Naval Hospital Bremerton’s foot doctor, Navy Lt. Edie Renier, staff podiatrist assigned to NHB’s Orthopedic and Podiatry clinic. For 2024, Renier saw near 1,600 appointments as well as performed approximately 75 surgeries at NHB and higher acuity surgical cases at Madigan Army Medical Center. As the Military Health System recognizes March 30, 2025, as MHS National Doctor’s Day, we acknowledge Renier and other doctors for their commitment as a ready medical force ensuring Navy and Marine Corps assets are a medically ready force (Official Navy photo by Douglas H Stutz, NHB/NMRTC Bremerton public affairs officer).

I still remember the day I got through the medical college, and it has been a beautiful journey since then. As a kid, I always looked up to my parents who were both doctors by profession and I saw them healing patients with not just medicine, but also love, care and compassion. I just knew that I had to become a doctor one day. By God’s grace and my passion towards this noble profession, I succeeded in becoming a Doctor and I am so proud to be one.
What better day than today, the ‘Doctor’s Day’ to give a special thanks to God and my parents, for helping me realise my dreams.
A very ‘Happy Doctor’s Day’ to all my fellow colleagues from the medical fraternity, and to my parents ofcourse, for their contribution to the medical field.
