Yosakoi (よさこい) is a unique style of dance that originated in Japan. Yosakoi started in the city of Kochi in 1954, as a modern rendition of Awa Odori, a traditional summer dance. As of 2005, yosakoi-style dancing has spread throughout much of Japan.

It was 2015. So I can't recognise the location. It is at the front of train station somewhere near Naruko-Onsen. If anyone can tell the name and location of this picture, it will be highly appreciated.

Some things I ordered at the beginning of April finally arrived today! This is the very pretty Aoba Naruko nendoroid by Good Smile Company.

I love nendoroids and have a huge collection of them but I haven't bought one in a long while since all my attention has been on my Azone family! When I saw Naruko with her cheerful colours, gorgeous outfit, and cute expressions, I had to order her even though I haven't watched her anime yet! She is so charming and cute that I'll definitely have to check out her show ^_^

Ei-sa-!

From the Yosakoi dance matsuri in Nakameguro. I know very little about the culture of this one, but the dance groups all had their own unique troupes, moves, framed around the naruko hand claps.

And... aside from the dancers, there were dudes like this MCing their routines. Because of course you want a Japanese themed luchador MCing your dance - of course you do.
