This beautiful hawk was seen at Lake St. Clair Metropark, Michigan.
It's one of my favorite birds, and they are sometimes seen in my neighborhood chasing sparrows or pigeons.
I say call it a Cooper's "for now" because there is a movement to change all of the eponymous names of North American birds (birds named after a person). There are many commonly seen birds whose names will ultimately change.
hip hip array, have cast aside my old namesake and gave a concert in honour of it.. read the latest adventure here...
Well you guys, I did two interesting things today.
First, I changed my name from SimplyShutterbug to Shattered Infinity.
Second, I went out and applied for jobs. I was offered a job by a local hamburger place which I might start on Friday, but two different Plato's Closet locations were also very interested in me working for them, and I have an interview with one of them tomorrow afternoon. That would be one of my ideal jobs so please keep your fingers crossed, wish me luck, and pray that they'll like me!
I took this photo with my sister Becca in tow. She had fun taking photos with her own little camera.
Haha wow, I have had so many flower-themed photos of late. Obsessed? Maybe just a tad. ;)

Named for its striking fox-like tail, the Fox Squirrel (Sciurus niger) is the largest squirrel among all the tree squirrel species found in North America. Weighing in at about 1 kg, it is about twice the size of a gray squirrel. Fox squirrels are highly variable in color, and their coats can be anywhere from creamy tan to all black.
Fox squirrels prefer open park-like habitats with scattered mature pine trees and an open understory. Fire maintained longleaf pine-turkey oak sandhills are optimal habitat. In some parts of southwest Florida fox squirrels are quite abundant on golf courses that have retained patches of open pine-oak forest
The Florida, "Sherman’s Fox Squirrel", is now called the "Southern Fox Squirrel". Why the name change? Recent research shows it isn’t genetically distinct from Southern Fox Squirrels in other parts of the southeast. The Southern Fox Squirrel is one of several species recently removed from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Species of Special Concern list.
I found this Southern Fox Squirrel in Osceola County, Florida.

Okay, so I came home from school today and there were the neighbor kids that I babysit, in my house! Turns out I had to babysit right away, until 8 PM. Well, they came back 9 PM. These pictures were literally taken in a few minutes before the light was gone. And it was raining too.
Soo... I'm trying not to say thank you all the time on my pictures because, it gets annoying, and then I don't know really how many comments I got on a photo because then half of them are mine... I'm not trying to be rude or offend anyone, I truly am thankful.
And I was thinking I want to change my name on here. melaniesau is kinda boring and unmemorable. I want something that people will remember, that makes them think "oh, I want to check out _______'s photo stream!"
I was thinking maybe like lyrics? Like:
Love is here.
Awake & Alive
Or whatever suggestions you have.
Or maybe names like the famous
caiti anne
lissy elle
sara anne
tori jennifer
Like you know, middle names :)
But I don't have a middle name... So you guys can get creative! haha...
If you have suggestions, write a comments or go here.

It's official. My name has been changed from Jason Michael Burrows to Jason Megatron Burrows, effective today.
Here's the story of my trip to the courthouse:
The Judge came in about 15 minutes late & apologized, then said that she'd be hearing name changes first, The first lady got up & changed her last name to honor her birth family. Next, a family went up, and the mom & dad both said that their daughter would like her name changed to Jessica, so the judge signed that order.
Then it was my turn... I walked to the front, where she had me raise my right hand to swear that I would tell the truth, whole truth & nothing but the truth. She asked if my name change was to defraud creditors, I said no. She asked if it would be detrimental to anyone else, I said no. She Then asked if I was indeed changing my middle name to that of my childhood hero, I smiled & said "Yes Ma'am." She said, "Then I do order & decree that your name be changed from Jason Michael Burrows to Jason Megatron Burrows" with a HUGE grin. There were quite a few chuckles from the courtroom... I was handed the paperwork & I split. =)

The banks of the river Lek, seen from Schoonhoven. Across the water the little town of Groot-Ammers is situated. The Lek starts at Wijk bij Duurstede, as a continuation of the Nederrijn. At Kinderdijk the river Lek and the Noord river unite and together the form the Nieuwe Maas.
The Dutch network of rivers is very wide, lots of rivers flow through the delta of the Netherlands. Lots of rivers cross each other, and a namechange occurs at that point. For a list, see for instance Wikipedia. In that list it is nicely visible which river becomes another river at which point.
The Lek is an important shipping route between the port of Rotterdam and the Ruhr district. Also on this photo a ship is probably on it's way to Germany
More toying around with vintage lenses...
Sorry for the bit of motion blur!
So...These are parts of the ruins of the first fortress constructed by and for the house of Wuertemberg. Construction took place in the 10th or 11th century.
The fortress served as a defence for the "Kaiserstraße" (Emperors road).
Till roughly 1080 House of Wuertemberg was still called house of Beutelsbach after their fortress here over the village. The namechange occured when they had their newer and bigger fortress on Wirtemberg constructed,
Anyway the fortress got completely forgotten and only "found" during land consolidations in 1968.
Unfortunately parts of the reconstructions do not match scientific standards plus the largest part has not been recreated at all!
At the moment the whole thing is locked behin temporary fencing I suspect exessive drinking and partying in the ruins as the cause.
Comments always appreciated - I love to hear your feedback! xx
I've decided to start the lengthy process of starting to use my new name. That means letting organisations know. I now have 20 copies of my deed poll so I can start letting them know officially!
I cannot wait to change my driving license - the picture I have on there now is horrific! LOL!
Showing a photo of the original Boalt Hall, the name by which the school has been known for many years.

This wildflower prefers wet or damp woodland or pastureland. Its one I rarely see and I was delighted to see quite a lot of it growing on one of the bigger estates in the Isle of Man. With it being on private land that isn't ope to the public much it is semi-protected.

I am truly blessed. And in floods of happy tears typing this, lol!
The Industries of the City of Rochester: A Résumé of Her Past History and Progress is a book by Elstner Publishing that appeared in 1888. An entry in the book about "The Kenyon Hat & Fur Co.," pp. 124-25, gives a synopsis of the convoluted history of the company named on this business card:
"This prominent mercantile and manufacturing concern was founded by Allard & Co., at Albany, in 1863, and removed to Rochester in 1867, the style changing to Allard, Hunt & Co. [which is the name on this card]; again, in 1869, [the name changed] to Allard, Kenyon & Hunt, in 1874 to Kenyon & Hunt, and in 1879 to R. S. Kenyon & Co."
The name changed for a fifth time, according to the book, when the "Kenyon Hat and Fur Company" was incorporated in 1887.
I'm not sure what happened to the company after that, but the fact that it operated as "Allard, Hunt & Co." only from 1867 to 1869 lets us know that this card was printed sometime during those years.

Thrixopelma ockerti Schmidt, 1994, also known as “Flame rump tree spider” or “Peru flame rump”, is a beautiful bird spiders due to its coloration and behavior from Peru. The rather dull colors at early age become more vibrant while growing up, showing an overall dark green/blue coloration with bright pink abdominal setae. Thrixopelma ockerti was first described in 1994 by Schmidt since when she never had a namechange. In European terraria she’s rather the exception than the rule, but nevertheless a wonderful creature to care for. Text: theraphosidae.be
I cheateth. I'm sorry.
Old picture of a sunset, pictures from yesterday...
The "moral" (or story?) of this picture is that we should open our eyes to the beauty around us, to take off our self-created blindness of only seeing the bad stuff.
So as you may have noticed, I changed my name to
Of all the voices in my head.
It used to be melaniesau. Sorry if it caused any inconvenience in finding me...
I changed my name to that because I liked the sound of it, and because of all the "voices" in my head, I want God's to be the loudest. So that's kind of a reminder to me...
AND I now have tumblr :)
Yay :)
My blog's name is Of all the voices in my head, too. Here.

Henderson, Nevada 1-11-06
I was looking on Google Street View and couldn't find this intersection. For some reason they changed the name of the street from "Buena Vida Avenue" to "Rich Perez Jr. Drive". Why the name change? My question was answered when I Googled the name...
www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/2006/Jun-16-Fri-2006/news...
"When Rich Perez Jr. graduated from Coronado High School in 2003, the nearby street that connected Horizon Ridge and Sunridge Heights parkways in Henderson was Buena Vida Avenue.
Now, the roadway bears Perez's name. It was renamed this spring in honor of the former student and Marine lance corporal who was killed Feb. 10, 2005, in a truck accident near Ramadi, Iraq. The Nevadan died overseas just 10 days before he was scheduled to come home.
"It's a solid recognition," his father, Richard Perez Sr., said this week. "We're very proud of what he did."
The street named in honor of his son has "significant meaning, not only for the family but I thought it would mean a lot to the children in the area who attend the school and the faculty," he said.
"It's a symbol of a young man who did a lot for his country. People can drive by and say, 'He went to school there,' " Perez said."
