Out today with Pauls Pix 53 for a wander around Nymans. We had originally planned to do macros, but it was so windy, we soon gave up that idea.
We also met up with Paul's 89 year old friend John, whom we at times struggled to keep up with!
My wife was sick in bed on our wedding anniversary, a couple weeks ago. When I went to the pharmacy to pick up medication for her, I checked out the plush toys they were selling for Valentine's Day. Maybe a soft animal, adorned with a little heart, could serve to comfort her as she recovered, while also noting our anniversary.
Nah! Jan's not the soft and frilly type. Instead, I opted for this garden ornament. And, she loves it! Janice gave it a prominent place on top of her clothing wardrobe, where she can see it each time she enters the bedroom. At least for the rest of the winter. She's so glad I didn't go for the plush toy.
Now that she's feeling better, she's trying to decide on a name for the new gargoyle.

The name of the bridge derives from a popular legend,probably fueled by the tormented constructive vicissitudes
of the building: it is said that to build the bridge, the people of Cividale had asked thr Devil for help.
The latter woud demand in teturn the soul of the first creature to pass over the bridge.
Having accepted the pact, in a single night the Devil erected the bridge,but the next morning
the citizens let an animal pass over the bridge.
a cat or a dog or,even,a pig,according to other versions......Apparently, at certain times of the
year someone heard noises,similar to grunts,coming from the riverbed around the bridge...
The Devil thus mocked,had to settle for the soul of the animal,leaving the people of Cividale forever in peace !!

Outside on a hot summer afternoon, my son, River, was taking a break and snacking on his gummy bears. He flashed a mischievous smile at me as I sneaked a photo shot. This was taken during the midst of the pandemic. Although it was an anxious time, we took time to treasure moments outdoors together. I loved the expression captured on his face, and was thrilled to have this opportunity to draw him! I chose aqua, a tertiary color. The greener tone of the aqua seem to suggest mischief, while the darker blue tone sharpened his features.
"You curse my name, in spite, to put me to shame. Have my laundry in the streets, dirty or clean: give it up for fame. But I still don't know why... why I love it so much."
Part I of III of my series entitled "Holy Grail", inspired by the song with the same name. I'm continually inspired by hip-hop/rap songs and this one was a favorite of mine to interpret on my own: the idea that once an idea sparks, it can consume you in an instant. This photo signifies the initial spark of an idea.

The name of the Madrassah is derived from the rich golden decoration on the faсade. “Tilla-Kori” is translated as “decorated with gold”.
In the western part of the Madrassah there is the mosque, crowned with the big glazed dome. Its inner decoration amazes by the quality of the gold, applied by the method of “kyndal”. For a long time this mosque was the main mosque in Samarkand.
The Atomic Bomb which was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 was named LITTLE BOY, and three days later, the atomic bomb that was dropped on Nagasaki also had a name, it was called FAT MAN. Little Boy killed estimated 200,000 human beings, and Fat Man killed estimated 150,000 human beings.

It's official name is Safford Peak, but locally (almost) everybody calls it Sombrero Peak. It's located in the northernmost section of Saguaro National Park's Tucson Mountain district. Seen from the Passey Loop trail which, needless to say, is remote and not heavily trafficked.

Accepted by the US Navy on 4 May 1956 and served at a number of naval stations, including North Island, Alameda, Glenview, New Orleans, Washington and Bermuda before retirement to AMARC on 14 February 1981. I saw this bull elk walk across the logging road and up this creek. I watched it and noticed this tall waterfall through the jungle. I struggled up the creek, over log jams and steep banks and couldn't get to the tall one,but this was just below it.

The drone is a fun new idea I had. It could use a little help, granted, but I rather like it and will be using it for a sort of faction, after BFNE rolls around and I can finish up my troops.
Excuse the crap background, I built this in 2 1/2 hours (excluding the drone). That explains the similar ground to the last picture. However, I like it. It gives a vibe that I like, and entered the competition on that vibe.

INTI takes his name from the Incan sun god and the Quechua word for ‘the Sun’ as homage to his Chilean roots. His colossal murals pulse with the bright colours of a Latin carnival and the mysterious energy of Ancient South American culture. However, his work still remains fine, controlled and technically dazzling. With a warm orange glow, the murals often contain themes of life, death, ancient religion and Christianity, all drawn together with one or two strange characters. The characters are like blending of all things Chilean: the Incans, the tribesmen, the peasants, the Catholics and the revolutionaries but with a strange mutant-like creepiness. There is a strong political edge to many of his pieces. INTI proudly flaunts South America’s rich cultural history in the face of globalised capitalism, whilst still addressing Chile’s problems of poverty and their rocky recent history.
This mural is part of the art project "Out In The Open" led by the KIRK Gallery.

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

A Toyama bound Hida Limited Express HC85 Series departs from the namesake town of Hida-Furukawa during the middle of a warm, humid summer afternoon.
For the "Culturally Curious/Cognizant" this overhead bridge shot was featured briefly in the Japanese anime, "Your Name". To sums it up, the movie is set in Tokyo and Takayama, but features locations from around Japan. In the movie, Taki and his group travel the country to look for Mitsuha, with their first stop being in Hida. It's a very short scene, but the station has solidified itself as a mecca for fans of the movie.
Makoto Shinkai, the director, is known to make his films detailed. When I visited for myself, e v e r y detail was exactly like in the movie, minus the platform the train departed from. Not going to lie, it was cool to see it for myself.
