This is my entry for Round 5 of the 2017 Middle Earth Lego Olympics on MOCPages. The category was Numenor, so I chose to build a Numenorean city scene with some interesting architecture inspired by a recent trip to Europe. I only had 2 days to build because I was gone on vacation for the beginning of the round, but I still managed to put together a MOC that I am quite happy with.

The Land of the Star, as depicted in Rings of Power. Númenor the mighty realm of men. Never before, and never afterwards, did they grow so strong, so powerful... so proud. Armenelos the Golden, the symbol of strength and dominancy. And towering over the capital, the great statue of Eärendil, the half-elf, beckoning to all who arrive in kindness and welcome, the inspiration for the great Argonath of future ages. But the gesture grows archaic...

It was exciting to build this scene from the Rings of Power series as an entry to the Lord of the Rings contest on LEGO Ideas. Unfortunately I only had a week to build in, and the result was that I messed up trying to submit the build, since it wasn't 1:1, and so it didn't look the way I wanted for the contest, but it was the best I could do with the pressure and little time. The Númenor soundtrack from the series truly sets the mood, and if you search "Armenelos Arch" you can find the image from the scene that I chose to build as a testament to Tolkien and the epic kingdoms and worlds he wrote of.

To God be the glory! Credit to Robert4168/Garmadon also for the main portions of the ship model which he did really well! I hope you like it.

Hey guys! Excuse the lack of posts lately but I have a new one! I hope you enjoy my Numenor moc i did! Was a fun revisit to castle and not gonna lie, I wanna do more! Hope you all enjoy! :)

Soon he came out alone on the summit of Amon Hen, and halted, gasping for breath. He saw as through a mist a wide flat circle, paved with mighty flags, and surrounded with a crumbling battlement; and in the middle, set upon four carven pillars, was a high seat, reach by a stair of many steps. Up he went and sat upon the ancient chair, feeling like a lost child that had clambered upon the throne of mountain-kings.

At first he could see little. He seemed to be in a world of mist in which there were only shadows: the Ring was upon him. Then here and there the mist gave way and he saw many visions: small and clear as if they were under his eyes upon a table, and yet remote. There was no sound, only bright living images. The world seemed to have shrunk and fallen silent. He was sitting upon the Seat of Seeing, on Amon Hen, the Hill of the Eye of the Men of Númenor.

Year 3320 of the Second Age—“Founding of Minas Ithil”

During the cataclysmic destruction of Númenor, a small group called the “Faithful” led by Elendil and his two sons, Anárion and Isildur, escaped the island in ships and sailed to old Númenórean settlements on the western coast of Middle-Earth. They soon established the twin kingdoms of Gondor in the south and Arnor in the north, inhabited by the Faithful and other men allied with their cause from Middle-Earth. The city of Minas Ithil was established at the foothills of the Ephel Dúath, or Mountains of Shadow, forming the western border of Mordor, to defend Gondor from Sauron. In its prime, Minas Ithil was said to be filled with silver light from moonlight causing its walls to gleam silver and white, truly a magnificent sight to behold and a beacon of hope harkening back to the glory of the bygone cities of Númenor. This city was later captured by Sauron, marking the beginning of the War of the Last Alliance, was recaptured afterwards, and was retaken by the Nazgûl in the latter half of the Third Age.

I ventured into the Land of the Numenor.

The streets were narrow, the roads unpaved.

It was a poor replicate of Lothlorien.

It was man's fate to face a desolate land after the Akallabeth (Fall).

Close ups coming in the next few days, Collaboration with Jonathan Snyder

Númenor was the kingdom of the Númenóreans and subsequently the Dúnedain, located on an island in the Great Sea, between Middle-earth and Aman. Elendil, son of the leader of the Faithful during the reign of Ar-Pharazôn, his sons and his followers had been warned of the disaster that was to befall Númenor, and they had set sail in nine ships before the island fell. They landed in Middle-earth, and founded the kingdoms of Arnor and Gondor. and in 3319y SA the shape of the world was changed from flat to round which caused Númenor to be covered by great waves and sank into the abyss, killing its inhabitants.

This had been a super busy week, though I managed to come up with this. I got the inspiration from a picture I saw online when I looked up Numenor. Sadly I didn't have enough pieces (or time) to make this the size I wanted, but it still turned out pretty good. I'm don't have time to say much else. Good luck to everyone still in the contest!

Sorry, the pictures didn't turn out super great :(

In the dim, brooding twilight, the shores of Lake Hunaiti lay wrapped in an uneasy stillness, as though the world hovered on the brink of an unspoken truth. The western sky, tinged with the faintest trace of a molten glow, seemed to bleed its light into the distant peaks—heaving ridges crowned with sharp, craggy spires that clawed at the heavens. The lake itself stretched outward in eerie tranquility, its surface holding a fragile, liquid mirror of the fading sky, fractured only by the gnarled limbs of ancient trees thrusting skyward like beseeching hands.

The trees stood clustered near the shore, their warped trunks contorted by the weight of countless years and storms long past. Their branches, stripped bare and encrusted with moss like ancient wounds, reached outward in tangled chaos, their reflections descending into the black depths below like specters caught between worlds. The air hummed with an almost tangible stillness, broken only by the soft rustle of water reeds, their slender blades swaying in rhythm with unseen currents.

Here and there, clumps of wild flax and sprawling ferns erupted defiantly from the damp earth, their jagged edges outlined faintly against the dim waters. A faint mist coiled in the hollows between the mountains beyond, sliding like a living thing through the valleys, pale and insubstantial as a ghostly banner trailing behind a forgotten host.

It was a place laden with memory, a landscape alive with whispers of stories too heavy to be spoken aloud. One could almost see Frodo Baggins, his burden pressing down on him as he gazed into the mirrored waters, or Legolas pausing to marvel at this wild, untamed corner of Arda. There was a heaviness here, not of despair but of gravity—of something ancient and watchful, older than men and elves, that lingered just beyond sight.

Even the smallest details betrayed the land’s secrets: the curling tendrils of moss clinging stubbornly to every stone and trunk, the filigree of lichen spreading across bark like a map of forgotten realms. The faint, earthy tang of rain-soaked loam mixed with the cool, mineral breath of the lake, and the air carried a peculiar charge, as though it had absorbed the lingering echo of some distant calamity.

This was not merely a shore but a threshold, where the physical and the unseen brushed against one another like the edges of a fraying tapestry. It was a place where the echo of Númenor’s pride and the lament of Lúthien’s song might yet be heard, faint and fleeting, if one dared to listen long enough. Every shadow and ripple felt alive, brimming with the paradox of silence that screamed with meaning, a landscape caught in a fragile moment of stillness before the turning of the world.

Osgiliath used to be the capital of Gondor And its largest and most important city before Minas Tirith. At the height of Gondor's power the city was a reflection of the splendour of Númenor's cities, but this was not to last.

A gondor civil war and a Great Plague depopulated the city. It began to fall into ruin so the King's House was moved to Minas Tirith. This leads Osgiliath to become vulnerable to attack and was widely believed to be haunted, as its population continued to shrink. It was finally abandoned by the remaining civilian population after being overrunned by Uruk-hai.

Even if Gondor took the city back before “The Return of the King” events, Gondor did not rebuild the city even partially at this time: they just put a military garrison to prevent the crossing of the Anduin which failed as the city fell to Sauron's forces!

This scene is depecting Faramir scouting the city in order to prepare its defence. But he is stopping and admiring the foutain, wondering how great the city was at its peak!

Ah, for so long have I wanted to build a brick-built ship! And here it is! I think I did a pretty good job on it, so hope you like it!

The inspiration to build this came reading J.R.R. Tolkien's Unfinished Tales (that's why it's "fishermen of Númenor", if you hadn't already made the link :) ).

C&C are welcome!

Welcome to Gondor - THis is my interpretation of the Argonath from the Fellowship of the Ring, realized in LEGO.

I tried to imitate the look of colorised photos from good old times. So i desaturated this one and colorised it by hand. Any similarity to Lord of the Rings is absolute intended :-)

Siege of Tharbad

after nearly 4 years since I start to thinking about this project (and 2 years of building) , I am in the end of the journey, so let me introduce my largest creation "Siege of the city of tharbad"

Fans of LOTR know this city probably... and because I am a big fan of LOTR and also of Castle, I decided to make my own small fiction to LOTR world and put this fiction to the event during War of the ring

Tharbad was founded by Numenor colonists in 2nd age. After fall of Numenor it becomes part of Northen kingdom of men - Arnor. When Arnor broke in 861 TA , tharbad belongs to Cardolan. In 1409 TA, Witchking of angmar destroy Cardolan, but Tharbad survive. In tolkiens books, tharbad was destroyd by Great flood in 2912 TA.

In my fiction Tharbad after fall of kingdom of arnor in 1974 TA still exists as independent city state and great flood in 2912 TA destroy only eastern part of the city.

In my fiction during the war of the ring, Sauron´s forces from Gundabad attacks the city (16th february, year 3019 third age). To help the besieged city comes Rohirim leaded by king´s Theoden son - theodred. also gondorians from Dol amroth came to help (lead by Imrahil) and some elves too. Orcs were defeated, and thanks to this, Sauron´s forces from gundabad can not join saruman´s forces from isengard to help them attack Rohan.

Few days after battle of Tharbad Sarumans´s orcs together with wild people from dunland attack rohan´s army in first battle on fords of Isen. Theodred suffers heavy wounds and later died in edoras - this is how it describes j.R. tolkien in his books

after nearly 4 years since I start to thinking about this project, I am nearly in the end of the journey, almost all is done, still some small details have to build .

Till i finish those details let me introduce my largest MOC - city of Tharbad.

Númenor, a great kingdom of Men, an island raised from the sea as a gift from the Valar early during the Second Age. It lay in the Great Sea between Middle-Earth and Aman. As a reward to their services in the War of Wrath, the Númenoreans were also blessed with long lives and a place to dwell outside the troubled Midle-Earth.

The Númenoreans were forbidden to travel West towards the land of the Valar, and therefore started exploring the eastern part of the world. The first Numenorean ships reached the shores of Middle-Earth in the year 600, in Lindon. They were greeted by Gil-galad and created a strong alliance with the Elves of the West.

Númenor grew to become a naval powerhouse and continued to explore Middle-Earth for many hundreds of years to come, before settling permanently in Eriador and later what would become Gondor and Arnor.

Second Age~The Lord of the Rings

Built in a natural harbor of Umbar Númenor built a great fortress here. This Haven became a base in which the Númenors spread their inlfuenceovre middle earth. It was here at umbar where the last king of Númenor landed to challenge Sauron in the year 3261 of the second age. "The fleet came at last to that place that was called Umbar, where was a mighty haven that no hand had wrought. Empty and silent under a sickle moon was the land when the King of the Sea set foot upon the shore. For seven days he journeyed with banner and trumpet. Then he sent forth heralds, and he commanded Sauron to come before him and swear to him fealty."

The Deeping Wall was a long, twenty foot-high wall of stone which formed part of the Hornburg, the fortress of Rohan in Helm's Deep.

Built in the founding of Gondor after the Downfall of Numenor by the descendants of The Faithful, it was exceedingly thick and strong. It was possibly the most important part of the Fortress of the Hornburg, stretching from the keep to the end of the opening to the Deep. It also was the most vulnerable, for contained within the wall was a culvert which served as a drain for the water that would accumulate from the steady flow of the Deeping-stream. This weakness was exploited in the Battle of the Hornburg by Saruman, who had his Uruks warriors set an explosive "fire" in the culvert to sufficiently penetrate and breach the Wall, forcing the Rohirrim to withdraw to the keep.

Year 3262 of the Second Age—Sauron Taken Captive to Númenor

Over three millennia had passed since Númenor was raised from the Great Sea. The great power and responsibility vested in the men of Númenor had begun to corrupt their hearts against the Valar and created an insatiable lust for dominance over all. In SA 3261, the vastly powerful and prideful King Ar-Pharazôn sailed with a great host of warships and soldiers to Middle-Earth, landing at the haven of Umbar and marching uncontested eastward to Mordor. It was said that even the mightiest servants of Sauron quaked and fled at the sound of hundreds of thousands of Númenórean boots marching across the land. Sauron quickly assumed a fair form (not unlike that of an elf) and surrendered to the king, secretly devising a plan to bring about the downfall of this race of men from within. The fleet sailed back to their home in SA 3262 and landed at the majestic haven of Rómenna, the principal port of the island nation located on the eastern shore of Númenor. Sauron was led off the flagship in chains and met by a host of soldiers to bring him to the capital of Armenolos, thus spelling doom for the once-great nation.

Back to the Fairy Pools — and I honestly don’t think I’ll ever get tired of this place.

There’s something otherworldly in these waters, especially on mornings like this one: cold air, mist clinging to the Cuillin ridges, and a silence so deep it feels ancient.

I found a new spot not far from where I shot my first image here, just upstream.

The pools shimmered with a faint glow from the overcast sky, and the sound of the river echoed like a whisper from another age.

It’s easy to see why local legends speak of fairies dwelling here — or why it could just as well be the realm of wandering elves or the last outposts of Númenor, long forgotten in the North.

In these moments, with the clouds hanging low and the light barely breaking through, it feels like the mountains themselves are watching.

Ten years after the Fall of Sauron, peace finally came to Middle Earth. A feast is organized in the Hall of Minas Tirith. All noble lords of Gondor are invited: Faramir, Eomer, Imrahil and others. Aruena and Aragorn's little son Eldarion are also present. On the left wall you can see a map of Numenor, a long-lost kingdom of Men, home of Aragorn's ancestors.
