C820 runs around the first cut of loads at NRG before proceeding down the Poor Fork Branch to get the next cut of empties to load.
Did you know that Butterflies are ectotherms, meaning they are unable to generate their own body heat. They count on the Sun and warm temperatures to enable flight; their wings act as solar panels helping them achieve this via a process known as thermoregulation. In fact, until their body temperature reaches 86°f, they are grounded. So it seems as though Butterflies really suck in more than one way. From a photographer's point of view this can be useful as you compose on the fly positioning yourself to get the best angle on their wings as they position themselves to either absorb the sunlight or hide from it (as they can overheat as well).
SD70MAC's are uncommon on the CV in general, and even more so on the Poorfork. So to have a MAC leader back North was quite the interest, especially in daylight. For the longest time, the Mac's were banned from service on both the CV and EK following an incident with ones dynamic breaking system in the yard at Hazard. Though thats a time in the past, they still are quite shy on this end of the CV. After completing the loading process, the power runs around their train.
Trinity College, University of Cambridge. I've known Neil (NRG) just about as long as I've been here on Flickr. It's been quite a journey. Today was the first time we actually met. Strange: you 'know' someone (online) and you don't know them. Neil has been one of my closest Flickr contacts. He takes time to comment thoughtfully and to share his humour as well!
It was a privilege to show him around Cambridge. I transformed from being another 'tourist' with a camera to a city guide. It was a leisurely stroll around the Cambridge University colleges. I hope he enjoyed it as much as I did. Look out for his quality work once he returns to Germany.
