A trial processing using "exposure fusion" in Photomatix, more realistic result and its quite fast than the normal blending.

From 5 exposures, I processed the foreground from 3 different exposure as its quite under expose from the background output. I also repair the distortion at the horizon due to the low angle effect.

Have a Blessed Sunday everyone and happy shooting!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

Una luz turbadora, me atrae,

me aprisiona.

A veces puedo salir.

¿Sombras?

My great-grandfather in my maternal side had two-colored eyes. It was very rare that he had one bright ocean blue and the other a medium light gray one. He was of Spanish descent. Family stories were told to us grandchildren that he had a third-eye and can see things ordinary normal folks cannot see. Superstitions I supposed...

"... Superstitions regarding eye colour are related to heterochromia, a rare condition that causes eyes to be different colours.

Some Native American cultures believe that people or animals (especially dogs) with different coloured eyes have the ability to see heaven and earth at the same time. This sounds like a blessing, but in the pagan traditions of Europe, having different coloured eyes was associated with witchcraft."

A view looking north on N. Main St. from E. Washington St. on the southeast corner of Bloomington's Courthouse Square. To the left is the old McLean County Courthouse, now a museum. This site was home to three previous courthouses built in 1831, 1836 and 1868. The Great Fire of 1900 destroyed the 1868 courthouse, along with 45 other buildings in the core of downtown Bloomington to little more than smoking rubble.

The courthouse shown here was designed by William Reeves and John M. Baile of the Peoria firm Reeves and Baile. The Classical Revival style structure was completed in 1903.

The fifth and current McLean County Courthouse, a modern design located 2 blocks south of this location, was completed in 1977. The courts were the first to move to the new building but until 1991, general county offices were still housed in the old courthouse. The McLean County Historical Society relocated its museum here in 1988, and today all 4 floors of the building are occupied by the McLean County Museum of History for exhibits, collections storage, and offices.

The McLean County Courthouse and Square was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 and encompasses the old McLean County Courthouse and the courthouse-facing sides of Washington St. to the south, Center St. to the west, and Jefferson St. to the north. The historic buildings to the east of the old courthouse on the N. Main St. side of the square were destroyed by fire in the 1985. Today a contemporary office building occupies the site.

This view also shows a large section of the north side of the Courthouse Square on W. Jefferson St., along with the west side of N. Main St. all the way to the tower of the Art-Deco styled Holy Trinity Church at N. Main and W. Chestnut streets. Nearly every building in this view is listed by itself or as part of a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places.

Bloomington is the seat of McLean County. It is adjacent to Normal, and is the more populous of the two principal municipalities of the Bloomington-Normal metropolitan area. Bloomington is 135 miles (217 km) southwest of Chicago, and 162 miles (261 km) northeast of St. Louis. The estimated population of Bloomington in 2019 was 77,330, with a metro population of 191,067.

mom dad and one child

such a wonderful sight to see

but i was lucky i had a sister

today its hard to figure how this can be

life now has so many choices

so many family styles

you can have one parent two or more

they can be as big a variety as wide as your door

and just to know you can be so much more

you can be a he, she, shehe or maybe a goat

i've heard say there's a guy who thinks he's a boat

but why do we worry

it's a time to just scoot and scurry

while children grow up in this slurry of muddy soups

children dont know if your a tree or a bug

they just want a lot of hugs

children need love and a guiding light

as long as your tail is bright and right.

First used normal oil painting effect at 70%. Had planned to crop, but really enjoyed the surrounding foliage so decided against it. Finished by enclosing in the film strip 6 frame, which also darkened some of the photo corners. Located in my neighbor K’s rose garden.

Hi friends, it’s been grey and cold (temperatures averaging -7°C | 19.4°F) here in Ontario, which makes me want to hibernate. :) I’ve been listening to a lot of great music, practicing daily yoga, and playing with the iPhone that I got for Christmas. Funny fact, this is the first cell phone that I’ve ever had. Ever. I’m having a lot of fun taking photos and making short videos. And fun is good. :)

Flickr always seems too serious to me for smartphone photos, but I would like to see that change. I know that several of you post iPhone images, so I might get brave enough eventually and join you. Yesterday was the first day this year that I took a photo with my DSLR, compared to loads of photos/videos that I’ve taken with my iPhone... I love photos that are taken more spontaneously. I find that DSLR photography has become almost too sterilized. Too perfect. If you know what I mean. I will try to expand on my thoughts about this at some point in a later post.

The photo above is from last year. I took it with my Nikon the same day that I took the photo of the sign at the tattoo shop. Thank you for all your warm and wonderful comments on that image (and all my images!). For the record, I don’t actually have any tattoos, and I don’t intend to ever get any. Still, I find tattoos cool and interesting, and that sign was amusing to me.

Sending out love and good wishes to all of you! I’ve missed you, and I’m grateful for your friendship/presence here! I hope that 2022 will be a magical and inspiring year for all of us. x

After a very wet leadup to Christmas, it's great to finally get some normal winter conditions and be able to strap on the snowshoes. Hope everyone had a good weekend and the good folks to the south of us in the US are safe with the stormy weather they are having there.

“Get at the root: union with God. On these days of recollection drop everything and hide in yourself to find Him in the silence where He is hidden within you, and listen to what he has to say. There is only one thing to live for: love. There is one unhappiness: not to love God. That is what pains me on these days of recollection, to see my own soul so full of movement and shadows and vanities, cross-currents of dry wind stirring up the dust and rubbish of desire. I don’t expect to avoid this humiliation in my life, but when will I become cleaner, more simple, more loving? “Have mercy on me, O God. My sun is always before me.”

Norm

The norm is not a natural law, but something that makes demands and coercion regarding the areas in which it is applied. Therefore, the norm claims power. [The norm is linked to a positive intervention and transformation technique, a norm-maker project. - Michel Foucault, Abnormals]

At least Flickr is back to normal.

I was using GIMP, and the shape of my toolbar changed. Why? Who knows.

At least when I shut down my computer, it went back to the normal shape.

I can't wait till fall! But it might be late and short, too hot!

I'm sure O'hare is as big of a mess as Schiller Park was on this fine snowy afternoon. The WC Y0175 pig transfer for Bedford Park is sitting on the Gauntlet with Super John Fenliciki chomping at the bit to go while a CSX Grand Rapids crew (you can plainly see) is in their usual no hurry to depart on CP 504 out track 7 to B-12. He's doubled out of the south end of the yard at Soering Avenue before power switches and CTC... A SOO SD60 is very rare on jobs that always rated CP SD40's and sometimes MLW's in their final winter in 1996.... I'm sure 3025 is warm, I guess its time to crawl back up on my geep and have another cup of coffee, it's going to be another all day, one-way adventure...

Resilience, creativity, hard work & ability to work together, we will get through the toughest service we have ever had.

Christmas is over and the shops and streets are starting to get back to normal.
