When that game comes in a package that sounds fun, but ultimately is a nightmare of losing yourself and playing to appear more like a stepford wife to attract an ideal… I am done with that. I am done with the game that demands more of my sanity and time than the reward could ever amount to…anything beyond a bullshit fantasy. A fantasy I can work for, but a fantasy that doesn’t want to work for me. I am worth that work, but no convincing a person, a world, or anyone who most likely doesn’t think about my wellbeing as much as I give them credit for… baa-bye. Bitch is done. Lizzo's song, two great conversations with two amazing women, and another song I heard while walking Saturday morning were the inspiration behind this photo series. I wish I could remember the song name or who it was by. He mentioned tic tac toe and not playing games and the idea struck me there while walking. It will always amaze me, as an artist, how people hurting you can cultivate such muses within us. I wish it didn't take the hurting bit to achieve this process, but usually the end results are worth it. 😘
