Tech Note: The image consists of a single, highly processed photographic exposure with a custom symmetrical and highly non-linear Tone Curve. (The curve peaks at its center, and falls off smoothly to zero at either end to form an overall bell shape.) Other Lightroom controls are manipulated to turn what is actually an early evening image into a nighttime view.
So, the season of the fall begins
Down the crossroads in a sleepy little inn
By the fire when the sun goes down
But the night becomes you
And the secrets of the rain
Forever autumn
And the season of the fall begins
Out the nightlands when the thunderstorm sets in
The secrets clear in the cloudy night
But the night becomes you
And the secrets of the rain, they will stay the same
And the time will come soon
With the secrets of the rain, and the storm again
Coming closer every day, forever autumn
And the season of the fall begins
Past the passingbell, past willow磗 weeping
A ripple forms on the brinks of time
But the night becomes you
And the secrets of the rain, they will stay the same
And the time will come soon
With the secrets of the rain, and the storm again
Coming closer every day, forever autumn

TOUCHDOWN! THE SHUTTLE PROGRAM ENDS. After 135 missions, Atlantis lands at Kennedy Space Center to end STS-135 and the 30 year space shuttle program.
“Space Shuttle Mission STS-61, the first mission to service the Hubble Space Telescope, comes to a flawless conclusion with a night landing on Runway 33 of KSC’s Shuttle Landing Facility. The orbiter Endeavour touched down at 12:25:33 a.m. EST, marking the 18th end-of-mission landing at KSC.”
Of all the night landings, this one features the runway lighting illuminating the orbiter's fuselage at the most glancing angle possible, highlighting the minute relief of its surface insulation.

The Space Shuttle orbiter Endeavour and its crew of six glide in to Runway 15 at Kennedy Space Center's (KSC's) Shuttle Landing Facility after spending nine days in space on the STS-72 mission, the first Shuttle flight of 1996. It is the eighth night landing of the Shuttle since the program began in 1981, but only the third night landing at KSC. Highlights of the mission were the retrieval of the Japanese Space Flyer Unit (SFU), the deployment and retrieval of NASA's Office of Aeronauts and Space Techology-Flyer (OAST-Flyer), and two Extravehicular Activities (EVA's) or spacewalks.

The shuttle Endeavour swoops in for a final nighttime landing at 2:35am EDT June 1, completing its 25th and final mission after 19 years of service.
Today is the day that we burn the Temple. Daark Gothly is the artist and once again, it's a beautiful build.

Working on Max Ray today, I realized my 1980s city had nowhere for the Aquatic Specialist characters to thrive. So just to see what it would look like, I swapped the Terror Drome with a park with a little lake in the middle.
I like the extra space, and I could fill it in with benches and maybe a little dock. Fun stuff like that.
But at the same time I kind of miss the ridiculousness of the Terror Drome in the center of town. But I could put the GI Joe TTBP in the water...hmmm...
Thoughts?

“The Orbiter Recovery Convoy team swarms around the orbiter Endeavour after a 12:25:33 a.m. EST touchdown on Runway 33 of KSC’s Shuttle Landing Facility. The end-of-mission landing marks the completion of Space Shuttle Mission STS-61. During the 11-day flight, the seven-member crew completed the first servicing of the Hubble Space Telescope in an historic series of five back-to-back spacewalks.”

“Under a cloak of darkness, Discovery rolls down KSC’s Runway 15 at the successful completion of the 10-day STS-51 mission. The Space Shuttle orbiter has already deployed its drag chute and is coming to a full wheel stop. Main gear touchdown was at 3:56:07 a.m. EDT on September 22, 1993. This was the first night landing of a Space Shuttle orbiter at KSC.”
I love this photograph. It makes the "photographing the band (with flash on) from row 89, section “WW”, but only succeeding in brightly illuminating the backs of the heads of the people in front of you" photo technique work.
