'Oh where have you been to Randal my son?

Oh where have you been to my pretty one?

I've been to my sweetheart, Oh make my bed soon

I'm sick to my heart and fain would lie down.

And what did she give you Randal my son?

And what did she give you my pretty one?

She gave me some eels, Oh make my bed soon

I'm sick to my heart and fain would lie down.

And where did she get them Randal my son?

And where did she get them my pretty one?

From hedges and ditches, Oh make my bed soon

I'm sick to my heart and fain would lie down.

Oh that was strong poison Randal my son

Oh that was strong poison, my pretty one

You'll die, you'll die Randal my son.

You'll die, you'll die, my own pretty one.'

Late in the year for these guys to be making an appearance, but the warmer than average weather and absence of snow allows them a bit longer to forage. His expression suggests he finds it all a bit quizzical but a fine opportunity to stock up.

A cloudy day but the sun came out to light up the the Old Man.

Situated off the west coast of Scotland, the Isle of Skye is known for its beautiful scenery and unique land formations. The spectacular ridge of hills (the result of a massive landslip) that runs for about 30km, form the backbone of the Trotternish peninsula in the north east of Skye contains one of the islands most recognisable landmarks, the Old Man of Storr (in Gaelic ‘Bodach an Stòrr’).

Taking its name from the escarpment on which it stands, the Old Man of Storr is the most famous of the rocky basalt pinnacles which dot the landscape. Standing at an elevation of 2,359 feet and at a height of about 160 feet, its prominent position and strange shape have over the centuries given rise to a number of stories which even today imbue the landscape with a sense of mystery and romance.

Good morning folks and as promised this is the last in my Eagle Series until I have the privilege of another wonderful encounter, then we start all over again, by the way this is the one I printed and is now hanging at home and at work.

Thank you very much for visiting, stay warm and have a great day.

Costa Rica has so much to offer and the red eyed frog is always a favorite to photograph. Their eyes are bright red and they have such beautiful markings that one can not help but be taken in by their beauty. Taken last April with Natures Tapestry Photo Tours.

Wishing you a beautiful and blessed Saturday !!!!!

The courting has begun. In the initial stages of courting the storks click their beaks together showing signs of affection .

Gulls don't usually get me excited, but beautiful light does. It was late in the afternoon when we drove by a small pond on Black Point Drive. This winter plumage Bonaparts gull (there is no such bird as a sea gull) was going around in large circles. The water was mirror smooth and the light cold not have been any sweeter. It was a great way to end a long day. It's all about the light my friends.

A series (in comments) from one of my favorite personal landmarks, a huge weather-worn stump, a reminder of the old growth forest which existed before much of Wisconsin's forests were clear-cut to supply a fast-growing America the lumber it demanded at the turn of the 19th century. For those interested, some amazing photos of those unenlightened times may be seen here: www.wisconsinhistory.org/Content.aspx?dsNav=Ntk:All|Lumbe...

In any event, the mosses now provide a year round miniature landscape within the confines of this ancient giant, accented by different highlights depending on the season. Here, fallen leaves provide a ground cover just as they do everywhere.

Have a lovely day/night:)

We were fortunate to come upon this Reddish Egret early in the morning. The bird was close to the road, in shallow water and great light.

While the Egret wasn't doing his mating dance, he sure was an active fisherman. He would fish in close, then fly back about 10 yards and work his way towards us. We shot this very cooperative Egret from the car.
