I had an amazing trip to Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. Newfoundland was just amazing with stunning landscapes, incredible birds and beautiful people. This photo was taken at the Elliston Puffin Viewing site where the birds nest on Bird Island. If you are patient and respectful the birds can fly over to where you sit. They do so to collect nesting material. It was one of those magical pinch you moment you never forget. The way they run and waddle is so cute. It was a dream of mine and my mother's to get to NFLD. I so wish she could of gone with me before she passed away but I carried her in my heart through the whole journey.

The colony also contained nesting Black Guillemots and Common Murres, Black-legged Kittiwakes and Razorbills. I also saw Northern Gannets flying around. After visiting this colony we went to the colony at Cape Bonavista Lighthouse and then had a delicious breakfast at Mifflin's Tea Room where we had fresh partridgeberry jam. I'm excited to share more of my travels with you as I work through my photos.

Virginia Lake, St. John's Nfld

As seen from a whale watching boat on a very windy day.

Twillingate is one of the places to visit to see the icebergs float by. By the time I went in June, there were none left.

Did go whale watching......no whales....too windy.....the water was really churning. A great boat ride though, and loved all the wind.

I did see whales off the coast of St. John's, Nfld later in the trip.

Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve, Saint Bride's, Nfld

A small fishing village on the coast of Newfoundland, Canada. Lotsa fog, but the houses bright colours bring cheer.

My brother and I drove a long ways to find this iceberg in July 2017, in the small community of Bridgeport population 140. Taken with a fixed 50mm kit lense.

In my opinion the seabird colony at Cape St. Mary's should be listed as one of the true seven wonders of the world. Sitting on the cliffside watching these stunning birds fly by was a magical once in a lifetime experience. Northern Gannets are so elegant and to be privileged enough to be so close to them at the most accessible seabird colony in North America was something I won't ever forget. We all sat in awe for hours just watching the comings and goings of these Gannets and other seabirds here at this entrancing spot. However, this is not the place to go if you are afraid of heights! I'm surprised there hasn't been more accidents here to be frank! This is a long series of 12 photos showing the birds in flight, carrying food and the large colonty numbers which don't do it justice as 24,000 Northern Gannets nest here along with many other seabirds, Thick-billed Murres, Common Murres, Razorbills, Black-legged Kittiwakes, Great Cormorants, Double-crested Cormorants, Fulmars and Black Guillemots. Thanks for bearing with me!

Took a photo of this cute home in Elliston. The homes in NFLD are really charming! Even their wooden homemade garbage cans are lovely!
