Football greats Ricky Ellis (Seattle Seahawks & Houston Oilers), Tom Flores (Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills), Mike McCormack (Cleveland Browns), Marty Schottenheimer (San Diego Chargers) and many more descend on Fantasy Springs Resort Casino for a good cause.

These kings of the gridiron have traded in their cleats and shoulder pads for nine irons and putters thanks to the 31st Annual NFL Alumni Southern California Chapter Charity Golf Classic. On Monday, March 29th, 36 of football’s best players and coaches will take to the links at Eagle Falls Golf Course and compete for local children’s charities. The primary beneficiary is an organization called “Homefront America” that supports children of deployed men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The two day event, held Sunday, March 28th and Monday, March, 29th, kicks off with a pairings party dinner and charity auction on the Sunday evening at 6:00p.m. inside Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Golfers and NFL Alumni are treated to breakfast at the course on Monday starting at 8:00a.m. At 10:00a.m., the golf action gets underway on the championship Eagle Falls Golf Course. An Awards Barbeque at Fantasy Springs immediately follows the tournament. Members of the public have an opportunity to golf with some of football’s best. Golf entry prices start at $1,800 per team and $475 per golfer. The fees include tickets to the Sunday night pairings party and luxury accommodations at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Golfers will also play alongside a foursome made up of U.S. servicemen and women whose entries are sponsored by event vendors and football stars. The winning golf team in this tournament goes on to represent the Southern California Chapter of the NFL Alumni in an all-expenses paid trip at the Super Bowl of Golf XXX in Maui, HI on April 24, 2010.

Porristas de los Seattle Seahawks

From CM's original buys in the 70s through the 80s.

OPI NFL football helmets from gumball machines were a staple in grocery and department stores for several decades.

CM is a life-long Miami Dolphins fan so that helmet has lost the side logos and the chinstrap, plus has heat browning as CM hung it from his rearview in the 80s. 😊

Also, while of no interest to the young CM then, but of great joy for both of us now, they're 1:6 scale. 😊

NFL.com's Preseason Live is pretty awesome.
